There has been no proof one way or another about the causality or the changeability of homosexual orientation. The question for me is, was he exercising his freedom of speech as an individual, in which case this is fine, or was he sending the information in his official capacity, in which case I'm not sure it's appropriate.
Of course gay rights groups only spread truth.
I wonder if all of the "Free Speech" activists supporting Ward Churchill will defend this guy.....
Here is an example of the liberal left and their hypocricy. Where is the 1st amendment and the rights of this school board member to FREE SPEECH. Its not free speech unless it goes against our liberal agenda. This minority gets way too much press, however, as we now know, the main stream media will further the liberal agenda as they see fit, and is exactly the reason to ignore them. BTW, I agree that the gays are sick and need therapy to straighten out their natural state of mind, and that they are so mentally ill they are incapable of understanding their illness and its impact on their lives.
"Changeability" has been proved, Dr. Robert Spitzer, the APA shrink responsible for removing homosexuality from the DSM, has research that confirms change is possible.

Where do you want them to go? The issue may be one of free speech, and no-one's speech, should be infringed, but is not the gay community entitled to speak?
And welcome to Free Republic.
Well you can look at NARTH's website for starters. Then there's a video the AFA is ciculating called "It's Not Gay."
Personally, I don't know if they are 100% effective, as they claim, but I would think that any person has the ability to alter their behavior even if they cannot wholly eliminate a desire. Just like a hot-tempered person (such as myself)doesn't angrily lash out everytime they feel they are justified, a homosexual (or heterosexual for that matter) doesn't have to act on every sexual impulse.
There really is only one question that needs to asked in any question regarding this subject, and that is this: Do you believe the homosexual act is sexually perverted. If you answer "no", then you are a homosexual. If your answer to that question is "yes" than all other questions regarding this subject are clear.
Ed, do you have the Wall Street Journal interview with Dr. Robert Spitzer and his research study on ex-gays? He finds that "change is possible".
How about reparative therapy?
I prefer the term "homophile" myself, but to each his own...

The issue here is does someone have the right to talk about changing sexual orientation? Yes, they do. The only ones who don't think so are the gays and the liberal left because they simply won't admit that change can take place. The country is full of people who have changed. I have see videos of interviews with ex-gays. The proof is there, the gays want to ignore it, because it doesn't fit it with the "we are victims and can't help it" theory they employ to make everyone cave in to their demands.
It is time that these 3% of the population are made to realize the country doesn' turn on them.
