God, I hope so. I love watching the left implode. I hate to be simple about it, but they are just sooooo stupid.

I will go to my grave blaming Al Gore for the timing of the attacks on 9/11. His refusal to concede an election which he lost forced this country into a crisis which led to a transfer of power which probably allowed many things to slip in the cracks.

That Osamma was going to strike is a given. It was a matter of timing. Al Gore opened the door for Osamma to take advantage of the election crisis caused by Al Gore.

To make matters worse, the partisan hatred coming from the left after the inagauration ("He's not my President," "Selected, Not elected," "A bloodless coup," "The President is an Idiot.")coupled with citizens repeating this trash on foriegn soil as well as Daschle openly blasting President Bush the first time Bush left the country set the stage for our enemies.

In my heart of hearts, I believe Osamma thought he would strike a double whammy on 9/11. I will believe until I draw my last breath he thought the citizens of The United States of America would revolt against President Bush and this great nation would once again become embroiled in a civil war.

He understimated us. He believed the liars of the left. Instead of abandoning the President, we gathered around our President, a man of courage, character, and conviciton. A man we knew who would respond in kind.

My loathing grows for the left each day. So does my fear. As time fades more forget.

We must band together in this war against our domestic enemies. And enemies, they are.

It recommended that the new administration urgently discuss the al Qaeda network, including the magnitude of the threat it posed and strategy for dealing with it.<<

Urgent to the "new" administration because the previous administration (8 years of it) did nothing and looked the other way...

and we've had plenty of warnings about Iran...yet, just as we did with N. Korea, looks like we are too hamstrung by the left to do anything about it.

Maybe Israel will save the day...again.

Sandy "Chuckles" Berger - "A little song, a little dance, a bunch of secrets down my pants."

Ah, that's where I heard that line before, in the eulogy for "Chuckles the Clown" on the old Mary Tyler Moore Show. I'd forgotten all about that, though I know the couplet more recently from a song by a favorite band.

Anybody know if it goes back farther? I.e. did the Mary Tyler Moore writer make it up, or get it from somewhere else?

A newly released memo warned the White House at the start of the Bush administration that al Qaeda represented a threat throughout the Islamic world

<snip>

"Al Qaeda affects centrally our policies on Pakistan, Afghanistan (news - web sites), Central Asia, North Africa and the GCC (Gulf Arab states). Leaders in Jordan and Saudi Arabia see al Qaeda as a direct threat to them," Clarke wrote.

Not one word about airplanes, New York or attacks of any kind on the US.  This is 100% proof that Clarke was an incompetent twit, as well as a perfect example of the mortally damaged "national security" apparatus Clinton left in his wake.  Pushing Clarke out was the clearest indication that the Bush White House did get it and did take the terrorist threat seriously.

I think the last nail needs to be driven not into Clarke's coffin, but into his way past Warhol time career.
