LOS ANGELES -- A conservative group is giving thanks where thanks is not wanted.
Citizens United posted a billboard thanking Hollywood stars for contributing to the re-election of President George W. Bush.
The billboard includes the text "4 More Years ... Thank You Hollywood!" It features pictures of Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Affleck, Chevy Chase, Martin Sheen, Barbra Streisand and Sean Penn.
"Using a billboard, thanking Hollywood for helping re-elect George Bush is somewhat in fun, but also delivers a serious message," said Dave Bossie, president of Citizens United. "That is, every action has an equal and opposite reaction."
Citizens United is the same group that mounted a counterattack against Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" called "Celsius: 41.11."
The billboards are more than one block from the site of the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood and Highland, site of the Academy Awards presentation. Citizens United said it has plans for more billboards in the area.
I'm not sure if I can take 4 more years of Michael Moore.
Hollywood's always screaming about McCarthyism and free speech. Let's see how they react to this.
Mmmm mmm mmmmmm...I'm lovin it!
Excellent! I've been hoping for something like this. I mentally gave thanks to all those folks on November 3, 2004.
They did us a favor. We should all attend their movies. Not.
Camera angles out front will conveniently miss that in the background.
Don't be surprised if they find someway to shield it from the delicate eyes of the naive little people of Tinseltown.
Is it just me, or does that lineup look like a freak show.
You gotta love it!
I really love this.........
#12. More like a rogues gallery on the right side of the billboard if you ask me.
They really are an ugly bunch, even Bennifer does not look that great in the picture.
The only good thing about Michael Moore is that he makes me feel like a better person by comparison. Every time I see him, I feel more attractive, intelligent, and well-groomed. HA!
That shot of chevy chase is priceless.
I'm not sure if his arteries can take 4 more years of Michael Moore.
Is that really the actors or their grandparents?
Is Chevy still alive?
Hollyweirdos' official pinup.
That was uncalled for.
Thanks for the update...this is great!
I bought a number of copies of this "Celsius: 41.11" documentary and give them to the best of my film students. Every great movement begins with one small step.
Thank you Citizens United!!!
If Hillary is a Lesbian, now I know why.
A 'pig' would "feel more attractive, intelligent, and well-groomed. HA!" next to Michael Moore.
How much did that little party cost?
Disagee.. Michael Moore does wonders for the GOP..he pulls the Dems farther to the left..off the cliff..
Well, if DU's indicative of any of Hollywood thinking, it should not be allowed and taken down immediately.
I heard David Bossie respond to this issue. Apparently, it was discussed with CU's attorneys and there is case law establishing that, once they entered into the political arena, likenesses used in the political arena are not subject to copyright, etc. protections.
(No, I'm not a lawyer; I thought about going to law school, but sobered up before I could enroll.)
It should caption:
The "Moore" you talk, the more everyone else listens...to the other side!
is michal mooreon going to be allowed in hollyweird anymore? a lot of people seem to hold him accountable for their losses
In all the movies I have seen starring Chevy Chase ( I wont be seeing any new ones) he plays an idiot, I never really knew until last year he isnt acting.
this is perfect
"Sobered up" -- good, that means you didn'tjust pass the bar, you passed BY the bar. 8^)
And these are just a few of the more prominent boils on America's backside. Don't forget (how can we): zany professor Churchill and 90% of our universities faculties, Al Franken, Sheryl Crow, the Ditzy chicks, Margaret "Me Too!" Cho, that glib yahoo from Comedy Central (just to name a few 'lock-step liberals') every Canuckistani east of Ontario . . and all the other 'fearless individuals' reading from the same so-very-tired script.
This is so perfect i have no words. (I would like to see the reactions of the anti-Bush crowds once they see it).
Entertaining and humorous, absolutely, but gloating does not advance one's agenda or influence. In fact, by increasing your opponents desire to unite against you, it does more to advance the cause of your ideological foes than your own.
Anyway, it made me laugh.
Too bad Nick Nolte and Michael Jackson didn't campaign against Bush, could've put their mugshots on the billboard.
"Shut Up, and ACT!"
Hollywood conservatives plan "Rally for Responsibility" at Academy Awards (2/27)

I agree. They did not choose flattering pictures of the 'stars'. (i love it) The exception would be Streisand. I would have preferred if they had used that other picture of her without makeup. But then, we don't want to go blind either.
I can be there I think. I may have another commitment, but will try to get there if it falls through. Very cool Freeper fun.
Do I bring a sign or will you have extras? Give me some ideas for signs folks. You're all so clever and I'm tired here at work.
