I shall miss "Enterprise". I thought it was the best Trek since "Next Generation", and this year, I was looking forward to seeing how the Federation came together. I even had hopes more aliens (read Andorrians) would join the crew. UPN screwed this show royally. An island of Sci-Fi. in the middle of a sea of inane comedies and REALLY dumb reality shows, and then they move it to Friday night against a powerhouse lineup on Sci-Fi. I HOPE somebody picks it up. Maybe Sci-Fi could put it on on Sat. night, instead of those TRULY horrible and cheesy movies they run. But since they killed "Farscape", there's not much hope of that.

Yup. I remember that one. And the one where the fellow was half-black and half white.

There were alot of classic episodes.

I still get warmed up when I think about the green broad.

Susan Oliver was gorgeous.

ha ha! That`s just what I was going to say. Like my friend says, Star Trek; The politically correct generation. One of the main reasons the original worked so well was the underlying humor of it, I mean who hasn`t tried to imitate James T.Kirk and the hes-i-ta-tion way - of -speak-ing, and all the great sayings "He`s dead Jim" "The engines canna hold up much longer" or Kirks all time great scream "YOU`RE KILL-ING HERRR!!!!" or the antagonism between Bones and Spock "That green blood of his"..great stuff! Although a lot of people would say the acting was bad, it really wasn`t, it was pretty brilliant in my opinion. It made that show. If they used Jeffery Hunter instead of William Shatner, it would never have been that popular, it wouldn`t have stood out as much.

Star Trek the next Generation though was a 180 degree turn around abomination. Everyone came across as cardboard cutouts. I mean did anyone ever say "f**k that Klingon bastard" on that ship? You got the impression everyone was walking on eggshells half the time so as to "not offend". Gimmie a freggin break. SNOOORE!

We're going to miss Enterprise, too. We've watched every episode. But I think what I'll miss most is not having a current Trek series running. I don't know if I'll especially miss Enterprise. Deep Space Nine was, IMO, the best Trek series ever. Some of the best TV I've ever seen were DS9 episodes.

He's got a point, especially about the reset button. One of the things I loathed about "Nemesis" was the end, in which it was made apparent that Data's memories reside in his sweetly retarded android brother. In other words, his character's death is about as meaningless as it gets.

Then there was the episide where Captain 'What's his name")Scott Bakula) would go back to the head on the Enterprise to retrieve his captain's logs..

Edward James Olmos makes a better Commander Adama than even Lorne Greene.

Edward James Olmos makes a better Commander than any Commander of anything in any TV show I've ever seen :-).

I even like the (female) Starbuck. I really like the XO as well.

I did not like the first 2 seasons, however last years and this years have been great. Never Liked Voyager or Deep Space 9. Neither of those Captains fit the part, and Voyagers crew was a joke. Will be sad to see it go, but I would be willing to bet Sci-Fi channel picks it up and does some new episodes.

Of course I also felt the same way when Sci-Fi was going to nix Stargate and the Outer Limits. Also just found out that CBS owns Paramount TV, when did that happen?

I gave up on Enterprise sometime in the second season when I started watching Stargate SG-1; has humor and lack of preachiness which Enterprise really lacked.

And as mentioned the new Battlestar Galactica is awesome.

(Showing off my nerdiness) The episode The Omega Glory near the end of the 2nd season of the original series was based around a battle between the residents of the planet, whom I believe were called the Yangs ("Yankees") and Kohms ("Communists"). At the end of the episode, Kirk gave a large dissertation on the US Constitution (which the Yangs consider to be a supreme lawgiving document). Patriotic episode indeed.

LOL!! One of the best!

The Kohms also were very Asian looking...

There were a lot of classics...but I've had to see them all on tape since I wasn't quite around in the 60's!

I still get warmed up when I think about the green broad.

Too bad she was only a figment of Captain Pike's Talosian-induced fantasies...or was she?

Susan Oliver was gorgeous.

I just watched her the other day in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show. She was absolutely rapturous to watch on screen. I was sad to find out she died of cancer in 1990...

Yep. I grew up watching Star Trek in all it's rerun glory. When TNG came along I was skeptical but grew to really like it. Didn't like Deep Space 9 and definitely didn't like Voyager. Enterprise was finding its stride and working out the bumps.

Wish Firefly had been given more of a chance.

Yes, DS9 was pretty good. Mostly beacuse the characters were interesting and Sisko could actually have fun. Thatm and he has some stones. Picard always seemed to have a 2x4 wedged up his backside. Riker, on the other hand, glimmers of Kirkness in him.

Yes, it was discovered in the episode that they were descendants of eastern 20th Century communists.

Every Star Trek series that came after Captain James T. Kirk was a cheap, politically-correct knock-off.

Yep. There was only one Star Trek, and that was it.

I am going to program my Tivo to record all future episodes of Battlestar Galactica. I had it on for just a few minutes last week and the story was gripping.

Gotta look for these re-runsMaybe now it'll be available on SciFi channel.
It would be refreshing to be able to watch SciFi there rather than all the "living dead" crap.
