Yes, DS9 was pretty good. Mostly beacuse the characters were interesting and Sisko could actually have fun. Thatm and he has some stones. Picard always seemed to have a 2x4 wedged up his backside. Riker, on the other hand, glimmers of Kirkness in him.

To be fair, DS9 didn't really start getting good until around the end of the Fourth Season of it's series.

Yes, the new Battlestar Glactica is impressive.

I wish it were not on opposite Monk.

You hate Star Trek and I love it! For most of my life there has been some version of it as a TV series. I'm heart broken that Star Trek: Enterprise has been cancelled.

I fault UPN. Its awfully difficult to follow a series when you show 6 new episodes and then show repeats for two to three weeks, sometimes from prior seasons, then several new episodes and then more repeats. I believe this is where they made their mistake.

While flipping through the cable channels a couple of hours ago I stumbled onto a show I hadn't seen in nearly 40 years. Remember 'Time Tunnel'? I only wonder now why I didn't realize then just how bad that show was?

i agree; Enterprise was finally hitting its stride. It just took them too long, and they lost too many viewers, before they figured out a winning formula. With the SCiFi channel buying up other series and relaunching them, I wonder if there would be any interest at Paramount or SciFi in such a deal?

From NextGen on, I do have to admit that I really liked the Klingons. They are like frat boys with starships and weapons. They work hard, and they play hard.

With the long barreled 75, maybe. I prefer the Tiger I. No sloped armor, but plenty of attitude.

" It would be refreshing to be able to watch SciFi there rather than all the "living dead" crap."

Oh I dont know, I kind of got a kick out of the "Dawn of the Dead" series, even the remake of the original was pretty good. "Shaun Of The Dead" was Hilarious(Remake of "Dawn Of The Dead"), not "Night Of The Living Dead" :).

"I've seen a lot of sci fi shows and this is the BEST series I have ever seen."

I think my vote would go to first: Babylon 5 and then second: Prey and then third: DS9.

Everybody thinks "The Best of Both Worlds" was so great, and all I can think of right now is that useless talking down to you as if you're an idiot dialog, such as Data saying "the emergency transporter should get us inside now", blah blah.

That was always a peeve with me, the dialog for dummies. And the same three musical notes in years 5 and 6 and 7. Every break to a commercial sounds exactly the same.

(I didn't care much for the look of the film stock either).

This guy hits several of the right notes with me. Worf turns touchy-feely, and the Borg turns into Jim Jones followers.

Am I supposed to grieve over the loss of a plastic druggie-chic looking Vulcan in a catsuit? Yeah, right.

YES! UPN behaves as though they have crackheads doing the scheduling. Pick an air time and have a consistent airing schedule.

DS9 was a great series.

Yes it was, and it got better as the Dominion War cranked up. I found the last episode to be disappointing, but the show was overall still good.

It seems that all of the Star Trek series got better with age--Voyager certainly got better when they got off of the "Gilligan's Island" syndrome and started developing other aspects of the show. Seven of Nine was also a welcome addition...

I still think The Next Generation was the best. The show started slow--even copied concepts straight from the original series in the first season--but there were some great episodes near the end of the run.

The Enterprise series has been many things but has hardly been politically correct; but it has been Pro-Life, Pro-Gun and Pro-War.

I agree. Furthermore, it was written for more sophisticated, ADULT viewers, and didn't cater to the younger, adolescent market. I will miss it.
