I am hearing about EU pressure on Mullahs to recognize Israel.
EU told Mullahs if they recognize the state of Israel, they can run their nuke program!
I'm really starting to get sick and tired of the Europeans. Yes, I knew what to expect, I have a very low opinion of their foreign policy and the ethics of their foreign policy, yet, somehow they are disappointing me again.
It seemed that we had turned a corner with Condi Rice's visits. I guess not.
More infuritatingly, if military ends up being required, the Europeans will blast us again for be unilateralists.
My sympathies for the people killed and injured in the Tehran mosque fire. They did not get to see a free Iran. Hopefully the majority of Iranians will have different fortues. Out of consideration for others, I won't say what I really want to say about the fire.
It seems likely that Iranian funded forces were behind the assassination of the former Lebanese PM. The analysis that it was a signal to the West is believable. It doesn't make any sense for the attack to be an operation completely thought up and done by the Syrians. After all, all it really does for them is hasten regime change It's like Iran did the crime, sped away in the car, and Syria is left with the bloody hands to show the police. To be sure, Syrian elements were involved in the assassination. But the Iranian motive is far stronger than the Syrian motive. The former PM was opposed to the Syrian occupation, and as I understand it, was an influential member of the opposition. Syria has more to lose than to gain with this attack. They may be evil, but they aren't idiots.

It's convenient for Iran. That way, when Israel takes out Iran's nuclear capabilities, Iran can say, "Israel has attacked us!!" Instead of saying, "It's the Jooooos!!!!!"
The first line would sound better on CNN.
