Desmond Dutcher lives just below 24-year-old Robert Bonelli, Jr. It's a two-family home on Liberty Street in the hamlet of Glasco outside Saugerties. Late Sunday night, police searched the home and found a lot of material they said was part of Bonelli's "lurid fascination" with the 1999 Columbine High School shootings.

That's the truth!
Yeah no kidding. Imagine what he could have done if he knew what he was doing.
He got off 50 to 60 shots and thank God, he only hit one person. But that one person, a 20 year-old National Guardsman, was shot in the knee and may lose his leg.
Better a leg than his life though.

What makes this guy think he knows how to use a machine gun? Not just any joe can be a good shot with a MG, it takes much practice to hit anything.
And just WHERE did Bonelli get a MG? Did he pay the $15,000, $200 tax, and get his Sheriff to sign off on it for him? Wait, you're not going to tell me that the guy made a MG illegally! That's.....illegal!
Lots of unanswered questions. Spitzer is going to have a field day.
Have they decided what kind of weapon this was yet? It's an assault rifle, it's an assault-type rifle, it's a machine gun, it's a handgun... jeez already, nobody can get the story straight.
Thanks for the ping, sweetie. It sounds like he was trying NOT to hit people. It would seem pretty hard to get off that many rounds in a crowded mall and only hit a few people. Whatta sicko...
Not only that, my wife told me she heard on the news (or maybe read it here) that the mall has a sign on the door "No Firearms." Can you imagine what kind of depraved human being will ignore a sign on the door of a mall? How are we ever going to feel safe if people just start ignoring signs?
Full-auto is illegal in NY.
I know, I was being facetious.
a full auto rifle? that's all they said... I'll bet it was pretty close to whatever the Columbine kids used.
My money says it was a 10/22, with an ATF approved trigger crank.
It was a crummy AK knockoff.
Nothing that sophisticated. The reporter doesn't know the difference between "full auto" and pulling the trigger fast.
probably...wonder where he got it.
Nearby gunshow about a week before. Being an adult, he likely obtained it completely legally.
Aside from what he did with it, and aside from the ignorant hysteria propogated by clueless reporters, there is nothing strange about what he got or how he got it. Went to show (could have been any shop) in-state, plunked down money, likely filled out federal yellow form, walked out with completely legal AK knockoff, and did something really stupid with it.
Well look forward to grandstanding from the twin devils Clinton and Schumer.
