EMAIL from MOSUL:
Dr. ** -
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, our internet connection has been sporadic for the last few weeks.
I have received most of the New Years boxes and we send our thanks to you and all the MBoP folks! I took most of the items down to the combat outpost we man that is separate from our main base. There are considerable less amenities out there and those items helped the guys who were there for Christmas and New Years.
I have sent the "moose nugget" ornament back to you. I thank you for sharing it with us.
I had a Soldier takes some pictures of the Christmas trees but I have yet to get them on digits from him.
I do have one photo I am passing along to you. [posted above.] We had a re-enlistment ceremony and got my platoon together for a little photo op for all the MBoP as a gesture of thanks. Hopefully you can pass along in an email to all those who contribute.
We thank you again.
Sincerely,
LT **
Dear All,
Above (post 1237) is a list of care packages that members of our Merry Band of Patriots sent to our adopted units and hospitals. It was so awesome, I decided to post it for everyone to smile and gasp over. I invite those who sent packages not on this list to post what they sent and where it went, especially if your package went to one of our adopted units and didn't get on the official posted list.
Also, at post 1249 above is a monster size PICTURE of one of the platoons at MOSUL (give it time to download), and the EMAIL that came with it is at the post just below it, at 1250. We also have pictures at posts 1231, 1230, 1205, 1193, 1125, and 1077.
This is my last ping to the 2005 thread. (I think) We'll start a 2006 thread in a week or so. Anyone who gets any more Christmas pictures from our units, please post them on this thread.
Kattracks and I sent some care packages this past week to Mosul to help cheer them up. But I've been thinking it might be a good idea for those of us who want to send more care packages to them to pool our funds over the next weeks and see if we can get Mosul an Xbox or Playstation2 or some Gameboys. That sort of item may give them more cheer over time than the quickly consumed goodies we've been sending.
Let me know if any of you want to be involved in this special project.
Woohoo!! Great picture and email! I love it! :) God Bless them all!
Save it now, cause it's a very large file and I will be taking it down by Friday, Leaving it up could cost me big bucks if a whole bunch of people link to it :-)
Tis saved! :)
:-)
Don't worry about removing the picture in a day or two if it's costing you money to post it.
New Perspective is down with a bad cold. When he gets better, I'll ask him to downsize the picture and repost it.
No problem, it would take well over 1000 links before it went beyond my limit of web traffic
It's really not the size of the file as it is the amount of traffic. Bandwidth of the Picture is stationary, it's the traffic of having it downloaded and uploaded that will push me beyond my limit
Hey, everybody!
If you want to put the Mosul platoon picture in your file, let me know and I'll email it to you (if I know you and you send me your email address).
You are an Angel, I will leave it up through the weekend
