Clinton just said that "Our religious traditions teach us that we aren't in control, but until something like this happens, you tend not to believe it. It makes you more humble, realizing you really aren't in control."
My husband is yelling at the TV set. LOL!

I kept having this fantasy when BillyJeff and GHWB were together at the Super Bowl....I kept wishing that GHWB would just reach over and smack Bubba on the back of the head sharply.

LOL! While you posted your reply, I was commenting on the same thing.

My husband (still yelling at the TV) said "WHAT'S CLINTON GOING TO BE DOING AT THE UN???"
He doesn't keep up with this stuff like I do. LOL!

Disagree with Clinton all day long, but I think what 41 is doing is what all fathers should do for their sons; look out for them.
I've often said on FR that I am polar opposites of the Clintons politically, but if I was invited to a golf game or over for a beer, I wouldn't hesistate to say yes.
I think in the larger scheme of things, Bill Clinton is a changed man.

Well, the question I'd ask is what else are they going to do? I mean, once a person has gone through a career of government service dealing, every day, with those you ideologically are at polar odds with, I'd think a certain philosophical grace would be part of the job.
Now, those for whom partisanship is like breathing will not readily understand that. In my unofficial capacity as WCF, I am deeply in this camp, too. In fact, in my FR bravado, I picture myself telling X42 to shove it in no ambiguous terms with all sorts of Anglo-Saxonisms thrown into the bargain. But then, that ain't me that was invited on that trip either. Fact is, this is an ongoing projection of American influence and, as such, a certain decorum is expected.
Thinking about it further, I would say that there are scads of times in a man's life when he must be in the company of those he vehemently disagrees with or dislikes. For me, the ability to be civil (for the sake of a large good) may be difficult, but it is not impossible. Men don't often sit and hiss like cats when they are in the same room with a nemesis - although they might call the individual a clymer under their breath. OTOH, the fact that Mrs. Bush and the she-dragon are absent speaks volumes.
Of course, as Miss Marple points out, look at the source. Touting the good graces of the Bush family is a handy way of rebuilding the masturbator in chief's tarnished image, creating the notion that the RAT empire is waxing not waning. The extensive use of quotes from the retinue of toadies and lickspittles should be damning for no other reason that aides and gofers lie about their principal's frailty as easily as breathing. Finally, the psy-op value of seeing krinton strolling about with the first conservative iconic family (as the ill-informed and parochial NYT sees it) has great utility to dishearten those in the heartland as these posts will readily attest.
In sum, toss it into the round file. X42 is still a commie pig and Washington functionaries are not like you and me.

I will never forget that Bush the father was the first one to use the phrase "new world order" publicly. IMO, they are all globalists.

"The friendship could offer political advantages ... as Mrs. Clinton considers a run for president in 2008.""Political advantages"? What, is GHWB gonna' be her campaign manager?

This is just the NYT being its usual self.
Hillary is now on TV from Baghdad...she has on old crusty with a royal blue shirt and has REALLY bad hair.
It is unfair that I had to see BOTH of these people this morning.
Oh, here is Lindsey Graham doing his aw shucks routine.

I think Clinton looks ill, the RATS keep on going on how Dick Cheney is not fit to be VP but Clinton looks dreadful compare the 2 and don't forget Cheney is 6 years older. The phase of the love of a good woman comes to mind.

Since the Times is the outlet for the Clintons, I assume that this is a suck up piece on behalf of the Clintons in order to look more "centrist," unlike the Deaniac Bush-haters. Seconded.

More recently, Mr. Bush and Mr. Clinton, whom President Bush appointed last month as his representatives in raising money for tsunami relief, were seen joking with each other as they sat side by side at the Super Bowl, where they had been invited by the National Football League. Anybody else notice that when they introduced Clinton and Bush during Super Bowl, that Bush motioned for Clinton to take the field ahead of him?
It was a very gracious thing to do.
