Okay, so which one of you forgot to ask Laura and George to your dinner party. For shame.

Bobby Flay could recommend somebody good.

"Laura Bush told Newsweek she doesn't expect that any of the celebrity chefs with books or television shows will be interested in becoming head chef..."
And, besides, Martha Stewart can't pass the security check...

I make a mean spaghetti dish and some killer tacos... My hamburgers are lacking, though. I guess I'll have to withdraw my application.

I cook three hots a day many days ... I could give it a whirl ;-) Of course the state dinners will have to be meat loaf and mashed potatoes followed by apple pie.

But she's looking to fill the job with someone who "can really showcase American foods." ...someone who really knows how to cook those great American meals like hamburgers and french fries for lunch and canadian bacon and belgian waffles for breakfast.

Well, but realistically - how many [local] people could be in proper position to invite the president's family to their parties? And then how frequently do such people (supposedly pretty busy folks) give the parties? Occasional birthday, maybe - and then it would come to a few such parties a year.

And, besides, Martha Stewart can't pass the security check...Shes the only one Ive read about whose stay in the slammer turned out to be a great career move. She is going to make additional tons of money selling her experience. Maybe they will make an exception for her.
