That's all for now. This should be fun consider it's being held in Wackoland, Oregon.
Wacko's cheered Dean, booed Pearl.
DAMN...I forgot to put "YYYyyyeeeehhhehhh" in the title.
Oregon moonbats on parade....would expect no different
Thank you , thank you for reminding me-
Do you know when C-span will show the roundtable with Laura Ingraham and Janeane Garafoolo?
In this corner.....DR. HOWARD "The Screamer" DEAN versus his opponent RICHARD "The Neo-Con" PEARLE in a knockdown, drag-out 12 Rounder.
On CSPAN 5 PM EST
Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
LET'S GET READY TO RRRRRUUUUUMMMMMMBBBBLLLLLLLE!!!
I watched this last night. At the end, the two are permitted to ask a question of each other. Dean's answer to Perle's question is very telling. Ignore the moonbats in the audience. I wasn't very educated at that age either.
A SHOE?!
Okay, that IS pretty funny.
Wow! Some clown threw a shoe at Pearle during his opening comments!
Don't know.
Lets get ready to yeaaaaaaargggghh!
Listening to that guy rant as he was taken away was like a scene from a Woody Allen movie.
I was astonished when Perle made that statement.
I sure am glad I'm not the only one that was astonished---
Oh, yeah, Iraq was ready to be turned over a year ago-sure Richard and who would be running it now, Zaraqawi!!!!
I thought he was on the same page as Bush---what happened?
Cspan 1 2 or 3 ?

this is going to be entertaining. Perle is a great debater.
Can someone explain to me how you increase the size of the army (as Dean says we should) without a draft?
Wow... I think I just stepped into the Twilight Zone.
I thought that I just heard Dean say that we need to stop wasting time in disarming hostile nations.
We could increase the size of our Army without a draft. When Reagan was president we had many more troops than we have now and there wasn't a draft then.
But Dean's an idiot and Americans are not going to trust any liberal idiot like him with our national defense any time in the near future.
Dean is done. . . . has Pearl spoken already ?
Another 'Open-minded' Liberal, willing to listen to all sides of an arguement..................NOT!
............AND at the same time that believes in the Free Speech clause of the Constitution (ie. HIS, not anyone elses, Freedom of Speech).
Clown.
Perle got to go first.
Suffice it to say I was quite surprised at that one. In no way was that possible unless we were going to just hit and run...and then we'd be back in another 6 months or so with a whole new mess.
I also didn't care for his statement that one of the reasons for the Iraq war was the freedom of the Iraqi people from a ruthless dictator. It may be a nice side benefit but can never be a REASON for war.
Oh, nice question - the one bringing in a quote that's over a year old (the one about a square in Baghdad named after Bush) to make a fool of him.
Very objective.
I'm guessing that remark came early on. I only caught maybe the last half because someone here gave the heads up. I can't say I agree with that. I'm not very imaginative, but even I can envision the mess that would have been, and how long before Saddam marched right back in and took over. Very strange remark.
Oh man.
The democrats being weak on defense in merely a PR problem!
Dean is REALLY out of the loop isn't he?
Guess it just goes to show what a lack of historical knowledge will do to a person.
I have been wondering for awhile about "mistakes were made" comments coming from neo-cons and others.
Most comments are rather vague about what the alleged mistakes were.
The "mistake" according to Perle, was not leaving immediately once we took down Saddam. "We went from a liberating force to a occupying force." IMO I think it's important to stabilize the political situation before we leave.
The other "mistake" according to Bill Kristol is the old one about not enough "boots on the ground". This is an old canard and I'm not buying it.
The third "mistake" I have been able to infer from various comments is that we "won too fast". The theory being it caused the Iraqi army to collapse too soon and it made it difficult to resurrect a credible security force and caused too many too be unemployed. err ....something like that.
Bottom line is no one has been explicit on this subject. It's been reduced to a general "mistakes were made" cliche.
Howard Dean just said that he doesn't object to Bush going after terrorists---
But, he objects to Bush not doing the other things to "return America to its moral greatness"---
What!!!! RETURN America---
Compared to these other nations mentioned, he thinks WE need to return to moral greatness---
WHAT AN ASS!!!!
It always seems mighty convenient for these people that were gung-ho for the war, before and during, but now that we didn't win and turn it into microwave democracy, they can "hide" behind the "mistakes were made" explanation---
Of course, only nuts like Bill O'Reilly came out and blamed it all on Rummy---
What is funny, though, is how they always are quick to reassure the host or audience that "they are not blaming the military", on the contrary, "the troops are real heros"--
Yet, if all of this is the failure that some want to categorize it as, wouldn't it stand to reason that the military DID screw up?
I am not saying this===I think everything has gone remarkably well, when compared to WWII, Vietnam, Korea---
I hope you understand my ramblings---I just get SOOOOOO frustrated at the way everything get twisted !!!!
Mistakes sure were made . . . and I'd say Mistake #1 was letting these morons have any influence in this administration when it came to Middle East policy.
Saddam Hussein was captured 14 months ago -- and this is the first time I've ever heard Perle make a statement like this. Is this Monday-morning quarterbacking, or what?
I seem to remember that during the first part of the War in Iraq, that Perle had some kind of position in the Bush Administration---but now he doesn't---
Maybe it is sour grapes? I don't know, maybe someone else on this thread knows---
Yeah I loved Rush's comment about the students this past week. If there is anything I really have learned since I have gone back to school at 30, is that those youngin's really are heads full of mush. Thank the Lord that most of us have grown out of it, or never have experienced it.
Dean was a True Wacko during the Debate! No wonder they cheered for him.. True, they are called Deaniacs and there is clear reason for that.He is a perfect choice for leadership of his chosen party.
They still don't get it. They're stuck in this "if we just say we believe in something, then we do! C'mon, actions don't mean anything!" mindset. No one buys that.
Some of these concerns were apparently well-founded, for Perle had the unusual distinction of resigning twice in disgrace over a period of several months in early 2003 -- first from his position as head of the Defense Policy Board, then from the board itself. This was largely related to the controversy surrounding his work on behalf of a Red Chinese front company called Hutchison Wampoa, which was paying him to secure Pentagon approval for their ongoing effort to purchase Global Crossing's fiber-optic network.
Dean's a lunatic, and Perle is full of sh!t from top to bottom. For the life of me, I can't imagine why any institution would have bothered organizing a debate between those two @ssholes.
Thank you so much for this information---
My memory was vague, kinda like his position from what it sounds like---
Boy, I was totally sucked in by him---I thought he was more of a respectful "neocon", but judging from some of the things he said today, plus the information you posted---
I do believe I shall change my mind
