WASHINGTON - A conservative ringer who was given a press pass to the White House and lobbed softball questions at President Bush quit yesterday after left-leaning Internet bloggers discovered possible ties to gay prostitution. "The voice goes silent," Jeff Gannon wrote on his Web site. "In consideration of the welfare of me and my family, I have decided to return to private life."
Gannon began covering the White House two years ago for an obscure Republican Web site (Talon-News.com). He was known for his friendly questions, including asking Bush at last month's news conference how he could work with Democrats "who seem to have divorced themselves from reality."
Gannon was also given a classified CIA memo that named agent Valerie Plame, leading to his grilling by the grand jury investigating her outing.
He came under lefty scrutiny after revelations that the administration was paying conservative pundits to talk up Bush's proposals. By examining Internet records, online sleuths at DailyKos.com figured out that his real name was Jim Guckert and he owned various Web sites, including HotMilitaryStud.com, MilitaryEscorts.com and MilitaryEscortsM4M.com.

This was all over FreeRepublic a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah, and people kept defending that a-s clown Gannon.
I just heard Chris Matthews use the same terminology. He was not challenged. You will hear it again, I am sure. I have seen no evidence that Gannon was a ringer, anymore than I would be if I was able to get into a Presidential press conference but they would think that I was.
Any particular reason why you are posting news that old? This isn't Main Stream Media, you know.
Chris Matthews is an idiot. A former Democratic politico who never seems to know what he is talking about.
The DU'ers are still foaming over Gannon. A quick perusal of their latest posts indicates they've just gotten started on Gannon. If Gannon is their prime ammo, they're in real trouble.
Why are you posting this now and here?
Lest anyone forget, we are currently engaged in a fight-to-the-death culture war with the Left. There are going to be casualties. Hopefully, the Right won't give the enemy too many vulnerable targets.
That is SOOOO wrong!
I mean.... "former"???
He's such small potatoes, though. Eason and Rather were the ones who were gone after, and they should have been.
Were people defending Gannon or Bush? I saw a lot of what appeared to be DU trolls making claims like Gannon was "given access to the highest levels of power" and other absurd things and trying to somehow tie Gannon to the White House. I also saw what appeared to be DU trolls posing as conservatives attempting to smear all Republicans/conservatives with Gannon's apparent lack of morals.
I didn't see anyone defending Gannon, though it's possible it happened.
You picked right up on that, I see.
Aside from vicious meanspirited hatemonger.
Setup
Yup, this article is from the 10th and is a repost as I distinctly recall reading it here then.
Old news. No surprise, it's also wrong and flawed news.
I suggest our "no comment" poster make one along the lines of "I feel like a fool".
Chrissy was still talking about this dead story today?
I am pleased to see my boycott is for good reason.
I'm sure there was some sort of protest in support of Gannon by some freepers but that seemed to die off pretty quick.
Nooo. People kept asking for facts, not rumors spun by leftists.
Actually, he was talking about the Wead tapes, but he still managed to stick Gannon into the conversation.
This article is a propoganda piece. It neither contains factual nor time-line-factual information.
Ah...I see the connection. Let me see: Both are bad for Bush, right?
LOL
"discovered possible ties to gay prostitution..."
Just like they discovered that Bush's commander in the TANG wrote derogatory memos about Bush.
Nope
See:

As I said though it seemed to die off pretty quick.
You make me laugh as well.
It is that now, after this, a journalists past is fair game!
The carnage will be interesting!
Looking dorward to it.
I suggest anyone engaged in criminal activity, i.e., prostitution, solicitation for sex, is fair game for being exposed. (no pun intended)
Forward might be.
I did not say I supported him heck I was slamming the guy from the get go. I merely pointed out that there was some support at the outset.
The G/G story is a story that justs seems to keep on giving and people, like the person who started this thread, keep it alive.
My biggest fear is that G/G starts blabbing lies to the person with the biggest pockets and the whole thing starts to really explode.
Let's hope they do start blabbing lies, that is what is killing the RAT pary.
Of course, all journalists should be held to the same standard. Rats should be held to the same they deem worthy for pubbies but eschew for themselves.
Hope so
BTW did I say Gannon and Big pockets in the same post, hahaha I've gotta stop posting for the night.
Is this IndyMedia?
I thought we weren't supposed to post from that leftist source.
Feb. 10, 2005?
Why wasn't this mentioned before?
This story is nonsense.

Ping to the list of their news sources.
I noticed.
The man quit because he and his family were being harrassed and investigated because he dared to ask conservative questions.
