"Loss of driving priveldges" rarely keeps these morons from driving. Watch how many times they are pulling over these morons on shows like COPs. And a life sentance rarely means life. Certainly some time spent trading sexual favors for prison "pruno" might cure them of the taste for booze.

"And for all you youngsters out there, I have had more fun here in the last 6 years than all those 30 years in bars put together."

And unlike the bars you are not forced to endure the more colorful characters.......weepy drunk, know-it-all drunk, angry drunk......hey wait! You still have weepy, know-it-all and angry here....just cannot tell if they are drunk or not.

"Let me put you on hold while I call our resident lawyer
Hey bourbon"

Hmmmmm...resident lawyer. Is there any differance between DUI and DWI? Or is it merely a choice of acronym by individual states?

"I don't have a problem with people drinking but if you do drink for God's sake don't drive. That's all people have to do."

DAMN! Did all of these happen in the same general geographic area? A string of tragedies like that would have the female members of my family all going "Carrie Nation" big time....hand axes and everything.

I think it depends on the states. I've heard of states relabeling the offense without changing the underlying elements of the crime, but I'd have to look it up to be sure.

My short answer is that I don't know. I'm not a criminal lawyer, and I've never handled a DUI/DWI case.

What if he had been driving past a school at the time?

Same geographical area for two but years apart, the other one was heading west on I-10 when the driver who hit him was driving east in the west bound lane about 40 miles away. The real problem is that there are a lot of alcoholic cajuns who don't think twice about drinking and driving. It's a big problem here.

I guess, they could have tied him between school buses and pulled him apart like the savages used to do with big poles in the old Tarzan flicks.

Lots of DuFarges on this forum boy.
