Sure wish some investigative journalist would look into the case. You are correct, it does not make sense. The only logical conclusion I can come to is he wants her dead.

Not sure if you are aware but he has refused to allow her to receive therapy ever since he got the money from the suit. Oh by the way, he did not seem to recall that she told him she would not want to live that way until three years after her condition began.

What kind of tube is it? I always thought it was a plain old PEG tube that goes straight through the person's abdomen into their stomach...you just deflate the bulb and pull it out, cover the hole up with a piece of gauze and it heals shut quickly.

I worked head trauma rehab for many years and after successful rehab, many patients were able to eat orally again and their tubes were removed. I've done it many times. Never in a situation like this, my situations were always thrilling and exciting...a step toward normalacy.

Whenever I heard about them removing her tube, this is always what I pictured.

Two reasons:

Her husband may be responsible for her condition. If she is able to speak someday, she may incriminate him.

There is likely a large life insurance policy which he can collect on after her death.

There can't be too many other explanations for this situation.

He's already shacked up with kids...so why not just get divorced and grant custody to the parents?

I'm so happy (and not a bit surprised) about this news. However, I do not like the tone of this thread! Come on! We all sound like the grumbling Israelites in the desert, finding doubt and disbelief with everything. Let's not have a "Marah" attitude here! :o)

We can't say we believe in miracles and pray for them and then doubt when we get them, no matter how small they may "seem". Have faith and we'll keep praying and thanking God for the miracles to come! :o)

You've already let the enemy worm his way into your brain, whispering things in your ear like "It's a ploy", "this will never work"....push them out!!

Take this by faith! Don't give up now! The enemy will work with your cynicism first and then lead you into doubt. Forget all that! I'm not buying!

Be it 1 stay or 50, each one is a day that Terri does not have to go hungry. Start thanking Him for that, people...isn't it what we asked for? Remember, all in His timing....... ;o)

Also, these tubes are easily replaced, should they become clogged. Just deflate the balloon, pull it out, replace it with a new tube and inflate the balloon.

In the "olden days" when I first became a nurse, they just used regular old large Foley caths.

Can I ask you a sincere question? I'm really interested in knowing whether or not you were relying on your info (so far) from the mainstream media. They continually mis-portray this whole thing IMHO. I'd like to know your take on it.

Thank you. Put me on the ping list when you get information. The DCF, sounds like it might be a good omen, (blessing). If they can get her out of there and give her the attention she deserves she might be able to show that she is in a cognitive condition.
