It might help on things like this FR Breaking news to many title the article "AMBER ALERT (FLORIDA)" or something like that. Just a suggestion.

Thanks. I was just so rushed trying to get it on, along with the picture. I never thought of that. I did put it in the Florida news category, however. Let's hope this girl is found. I heard on the news that the Grandmother went into her bedroom this morning, and discovered she was not there (Fox news). Living with grandmother?

My grandparents lived with us after they were of certain age. Would that kids today had the experience. I mean having grandparents live WITH them instead of being raised by grandparents because the parents are MIA.

Right. I am just so sickened about all of these lately. I think this one was the proverbal "last straw" for me. I hope with our vast network of FReers, and their ability to send this everywhere, we help to get the story out. Oh, God Bless our Children, today.

BTT for Jessica!
To: CitizenM
Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for the network available when one of Your precious children is missing. Guard Jessica until she can be safely returned to her family, we pray ... blanket her with wisdom and discernment and ability, wherever she is. Empower law enforcement that they would quickly discern every lead and act accordingly. Stay the hand of anyone who would harm Jessica in any way ... reveal their whereabouts quickly, O God, and surround her family with the encouragement they so desperately need in this dark hour. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Amen. And God bless you, also. I hope this ends quickly and happily for Jessica. Between all the recent missing children stories, and stories about teachers molesting children, I feel there is such evil about and overtaking us. I am glad my own children are grown, but I worry about my grandchildren - and all children. It is a scary world now.
The pendulum must swing back and give our children days like we had when we felt safe and carefree.

UPDATE: Re local news at noon. The Amber Alert was changed to Missing Child Alert since there is no sign of "forced entry" or "vehicle description," authorities say.
Sheriff's office has copter and bloodhounds out all over the area. Jessica's father lives somewhere in the vicinity, but not her mother. She lives with her grandparents, who are fine folks, from all local accounts.
Will post more as it comes in.

I haven't heard anything since earlier this evening. Her mom was being interviewed on Greta's show, but she was still missing at that time. She didn't even have any shoes on. Curiouser and curiouser!

Hi, saw the greta interview. I believe that was her cousin. Mom has not been located. The cousin said Jessica and her mom had not seen each other in a couple of years. Yes, it is strange that she did not have on any shoes, (they checked and all her's were accounted for)and there was no sign of forced entry anywhere. The cousin did a very good interview, spoke intelligently and stood up under greta's hard questioning. It's as if Jessica just evaporized out of there. Very scary.

The area is just about 20 minutes north of where I live on Florida's beautiful central gulf coast. Homosassa Springs itself is a minor one-day tourist mecca....with nature preserves, spring-fed river, a commercial park for watching manatees in their habitat, small inns and resorts, a few nice subdivisions.
The rest is a lot of scrub open space, plenty of working class, itinerants and trailer parks, retirees' small houses......it's rather rural and sleepy off the main highway. Probably low-to-lower average incomes except for some pockets here and there.
I have some suspicions on this case forming in the back of my head, but probably better not voiced at this time.

Prayers for her return. I agree with you that there have been so many tragic stories regarding children lately. It breaks my heart that people could be so horrible. Lord be with this little girl and bring her home safe.

I'm watching the heartbreaking interview of the Dad and Grandparents now. Oh my. Oh my. Tears and shaking voices. This is soooo tragic. It is almost too hard to watch, but I want to hear them.

Definately lot of prayers.
I've been thinking about the fact that there seem to be so many.
I really think that it has to do with our news is so much better, and they get the word out. I just can't imagine that there has been SUCH a rise in these types of cases. With cable and the internet there's an outlet to get the information out nationally.

I heard the presser. A few observations.
No sign of forced entry..
Father spent the night out with a friend. Grandparents were home with the child.
Father says he has only had contact with her Mother a couple of times. Didn't want to talk about her.
Grandmother mentioned the little girl would "walk the dog". Did the dog bark during the night?
I don't know about this case. They are comparing it to Jessica Smart, but it has more of a Danielle VanDam feel to me.

I understand the need to hear them. I haven't watched Greta in a long time. I finally watched her last week and it was tragic to hear some of the stuff. I won't watch her again for awhile. What the parents did to the infant in Texas haunts me. There has to be a remote corner of Hell where even these people will be judged more severely for thier actions.
