Maybe Smerconish should read up on Hugh Finn and see what happened to him. Hugh was also a part of the media. None of us are immune from this and if Terri dies this way it can happen to us, our children, grandchildren, etc.

I don't know if anyone ever called in, because I stopped listening to him about a couple of months ago. He's down in Florida, you know, and I'm SURE he knows about Terri. He HAS to.

When Rush just went on and on about *his* case, and NEVER even mentioned Terri at any other time, I got so disgusted and turned him off. As I said before, I think Rush doesn't want to irk the ACLU. It seems very obvious to me.

By the way, I remember when FR poster jmstein7 called him on a "open line Friday," in order to discuss "Memogate," the call screener told him that "Rush didn't want to talk about that."

Sean always says things like, "Well, we disagree on a lot of things, but I like so-and-so and think he/she would be great in office".

Sean is too willing to settle for the so-called "fiscal conservatives." I remember when Schwartzenegger was running, and Sean's big point was that CA's fiscal situation was in such a mess that Ahnold was needed to save the state. Hannity held the attitude that's popular among the RINOs, namely, that a true Conservative (Mc Clintock) could never win. I thought it was nothing but a self-fulfilling prophesy. I remember Sean saying that as governor, Ahnold would have little to do with the abortion issue. That's an absolute crock, as we all know.

According to Sean, Schwartzenegger, as governor, would be a necessary factor in President Bush's campaign. Doing the right thing, voting for the right candidate, is of greater importance. The ends don't ever justify the means.

I can't sell out, and Sean can and did.

I'm VERY sorry to hear about Condi. That's the end, as far as I'm concerned.

Glenn Beck is OK, in my book. He's no longer on NY radio, but I'm thankful he was for awhile. I found out about Terri from Glenn Beck, about three years ago, and the rest is history. God bless him. He's been a real champion for her cause.

I rooted for McClintock over Schwarzenegger and am not a big fan of Guiliani's particularly for president.

Just because Sean supported Schwarzenegger and supports Giuliani doesn't mean he's NOT conservative.

Most of Sean's opinions are quite conservative.

Yes, but what good are they if he doesn't act on them. He's too inconsistant to be taken seriously, in my opinion.

On the other hand, Mc Clintock is a hero.

Sometimes the truth does lie in the middle and sometimes it doesn't.

In Terri's case, there is NO middle.

Of course I criticize democracy... I would never live in one. In a Democracy, we could vote to kill all people named "Bob", or people below 5 feet tall. If the majority of people voted like that, it would be legal, and by your standards, moral.

I like to live in a Federal Constitutional Republic. We can vote on certain issues, but we cannot do things that abrogate the constitution. That is the idea of rights. Many tyrannys have risen from too much democracy... that is not the American way.

Sean's strategy might be different than mine or yours but THAT doesn't mean he isn't acting upon his conservative convictions and doing what he thinks is best for their survival and implementation.

He has supported the TROOPS, and President Bush, both of whom most conservatives support, as well as other conservative candidates. You might dislike that too often Sean parodies the Republican Party's position regarding candidates, but he does what he thinks is best for his conservative principles, whether or not he is in actuality correct or YOU agree.

How does it make sense to say essentially, "Sean may not always take a conservative position, but it doesn't mean he's not acting on conservative convictions."?!? Huh?

It's a sad day when supporting our troops and our president is considered all one needs for a "conservative" position. FDR was one of the biggest communists this country ever elected, and he supported the military (at least when our interests were involved in WWII). We live in strange times---even liberals who feel forced redistribution of wealth is the ideal should support our president and military. The fact that they don't and Sean does doesn't make Sean a conservative--it makes him an American.
