The movie was made a year and a half ago. Apple instituted (and other companies started offering) battery replacements a year and a half ago. WCBS aired this "report" yesterday.

Perhaps next week Arnold Diaz can do a hard-hitting report on the dangers of the Chevy Corvair.

Apple released the battery replacement program November 14, 2003. ipodsdirtysecret.com was only registered on November 20, 2003, and started being heavily publicized on November 21, 2003. Additionally, Apple had been planning the AppleCare programs for months - these types of service programs don't just happen overnight - before Casey Neistat even had his first contact with Apple. One of my friends got an iPod when they first came out and went thru the frustration of their battery dying with the samecanned reply from apple to just buy a brand new one.
