It sounds like he moved out of dodge and got a job hiding out in Park City being the dog catcher, after graduating with a degree from Wichita State in 1979.

Atypical for serial killers that he would stop for such a long period of time..

There are unsolved murders up until at least 1991 and maybe later that are probably him. One victim lived down the block from him.

The death penalty was recently set aside in the state, so it's doubtful that he will get lethal injection.

Perhaps they should ship him to us barbaric Texans . . . we tend to enjoy taking care of society's waste.

Loved your "Deputy's" badge on your homepage! Can anyone get one of those or do you have to get some kind of . . . uugghhh! . . . "formal education?"

Agree. It will definitely be interesting to find out more - Was he in prison for awhile? - Did he commit other murders? - Etc.

Hopefully this is the guy and they got him - Sounds like he made a big mistake dropping one of those letters off (camera's nailed him - probably the security camera in a store across the street or something like that).

Yep. At least 2 between 85 and 91. They were never officially announced as BTK murders, but they were both close to this guy.

This is the description of the first murder..Like you, I can't imagine that he just "got it out of his system." and reformed...

His contact lately might mean he was feeling stressed, feeling the great urge again and wanted to be caught..or he just needed to feel important again..

He likes publicity.
Of course he lied about his personal information in letters he sent. He needs to feel powerful and striking fear in the hearts of citizens and fooling the police helped him feel that way.

He didnt change his MO at all! Dropped a book by the Wichita library in spring 2004 with a message from 'BTK' written inside. (no doubt a camera caught his car)

He did mention that he didnt know if the killing would ever 'get out of his system,' maybe he took a 15 year vacation..

ANd maybe his vacation was to other states. Need to cross check his MO for deaths in those areas.

One thing I'm not looking forward to is when the trials start, many details law enforcement kept secret will now be public knowledge. We're probably going to hear some of the most depraved stuff ever.
