The Law west of the Pecos! Have you ever been to that 'museum,' or whatever it is, in West Texas? I was young, but I do remember parts of it. And I remember my Dad was almost reverent about the place. LOL!

Plant also said Rader was "very meticulous and neat."

"I don't have time to have every pen in place. Not Dennis.
... With him, everything was just perfect: his office, his
truck, everything ...

"I've never seen that man in a pair of blue jeans, always
Dockers and polo shirts, and always just attention to detail
... nice shoes. He carried a nice leather day planner with
the pens lined up perfectly in it."

Very interesting...

Yes, that's the exact section I was about to cut and paste. Great minds... ;-)

Here's another good one:

"Unfortunately, you seldom get very useful information about someone like this
from their friends. A great misconception is that narcissists and sociopaths
offend everyone they know, and that people who offend everyone they know are
narcissists and sociopaths. My study says this is almost always untrue.
Serial killers do not kill everyone they meet, they select their victims
carefully. Sociopaths and to an even greater extent narcissists do not offend
everyone they encounter. They will be good friends to their friends and the
people they respect/like and very nice to people who are of strategic value to
them. For example, see how many Hollywood people are rumored to behave, sucking
up to other important people in their industry, degrading "little people" and
potential rivals."

"Control seemed to be his aim..and showing his superiority.

I imagine that he is talking to police, if he is talking, in order to impress them with his brilliance."

I'm no profiler, but I have read my share of true crime novels and this stuff fascinates me.

John Wayne Gacy and the Hillside Stranglers also liked to demonstrate their superiority. In both cases, they impersonated police officers. Gacy was a pathological liar who was always bragging about things he did and people he knew.

When Gacy was caught, he demonstrated his "brilliance" by drawing a detailed map of the graveyard under his house and how all the bodies were arranged. He got a charge out of rattling on and on, which proved troublesome later when he tried to plead not guilty.

BTK also seemed to thrive on his authority position. His uniform even has a law enforcement officer look to it.

Hopefully he is spilling the beans to feed his sense of self-importance.

Hopefully he is spilling the beans to feed his sense of self-importance.

And I wouldn't mind too terribly much if he spilled the beans on a post-1994 murder. Otherwise, he'll sit in jail the rest of his life and play the hero. Bring back the chain gangs.

Yes! Indeed I have.

You father is a wise man! ;>)

On KWCH, they said reports the daughter turned him in are false, but that reports she supplied DNA may be true.

They apparently did not get anyone to deny the latter, but could not stone cold confirm it yet either.

They did say they will report tonight where mom and daughter are holed up. I can't imagine the horrid grief they are going through.

I have never heard that his daughter turned him in. Where did that come from?

I know what you mean. I would be very surprised if the DNA doesn't link him to a more recent murder.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - The man arrested on suspicion of being the BTK serial killer has confessed to at least six slayings and might be responsible for as many as 13 - including one that could carry the death penalty, a source close to the investigation said Sunday.

Investigators, who suspect Dennis L. Rader in a decades-old string of 10 slayings, are looking into whether he was responsible for another three killings- including at least one that occurred after the restoration of the Kansas' death penalty in 1994, the source told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Rader made the confession Friday, the day of his arrest, according to the source. "The guy is telling us about the murders," the source said.

Police spokeswoman Janet Johnson declined to comment on the accuracy of the source's statements.

Just got access to the computer again..I read the other thread..I will wait on confirmation about the confession story..It sounds like the TV stations are backing off of it.
When they will not release any information ...rumors are everywhere. They either turn out to be true, partially true or completely false. It keeps us going, though!

Apparently, a local station or two was saying that.

Probably Channel 3, the NBC affiliate.

They stink.

On the other hand, I have been extremely impressed with KAKE's coverage (probably seen Larry H. all over the place giving his insight). I am finding myself turn to them more than KWCH anymore, and I used to be married to KWCH.

The Wichita police are ultra-secretive, as well.
