Howard Dean rolled into the state of Kansas over the weekend hoping to make some headway into courting democrats in the conservative state to get out and vote. At first glance, the results weren't very good. The northeastern liberal leader of the Democratic National Committee was snubbed by nearly ever elected democratic in the state (including the democratic governor) and couldn't even get 1,000 liberals to pay $5 to hear him speak in the liberal mecca of Lawrence, Kansas.
According to the Lawrence Journal-World, Howard Dean then barred the media from his $100 a plate liberal hate-fest that was held at the home of John and Nancy Hiebert.

Where doomed! Dean said we are evil!! HELP!!
>>Howard Dean rolled into the state of Kansas over the wee
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!
So much for the kinder, gentler Howard Dean
He's raising money. That's the job of party chair. He's not winning any converts, but rather, he's firing up the base.
How-weird Dean, the gift that keeps on giving!
Dean, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Ho agree, Republicans ARE evil.
If he thinks republicans are evil imagine what he thinks (if that's possible) of conservatives.
This stuff should be broadcast everywhere so the whole political world knows about Screamer Dean.
And that preschool teacher that said he "didn't go far enough"? Yikes - keep your kids away from her.

Let's hear it for the Rainbow Tour
It's been an incredible success
We weren't quite sure, we had a few doubts.......
Howard "the mean" Dean machine. He's good for humor.
Dean is the best thing to happen to conservatives in a long time.
That reminds me, I have to pick up some rat traps.
The lib/dems hold to very low standards. They have a right to be tolerant....but everyone should recognize what a low standard that really is. While Dean "tolerates" blacks in his organizations (okay, there must be SOME somewhere in his organization), the "right-winger" in the Whitehouse is promoting them and relying on their advice.
Gutless, like all "progressives", liberals, socialists, collectivists, thugs, criminals.
Dean is Gods gift to Republicans.
I cant believe the Democrats are so extreme as to put this nutjob in control. I LUV IT!
Dean is a rare politician....loved by all!
He never fails to say something stupid and put his foot in his mouth. No control whatsover. No idea how that kind of extremisms alienates more voters from the Democrats. I couldnt have picked a better leader for them.
"He's raising money. That's the job of party chair"
Doesn't sound like he raised much--fewer than a 1000 people at $5 a whack, a $100-a-plate dinner in a private home...
Maybe he inspired some of them to pony up more later; but the liberal conundrum remains: how to make hatred a motivator among people who are, in their own personal situations, relatively comfortable.
Karl Rove set them up.
;)

You know, I'd wear the top one as a t-shirt PROUDLY if it didn't mean some demonrat lie-beral was getting the money.
Dean is intolerant of the "Right" whom he claims isn't tolerant and wants to eliminate the Left's right to be tolerant????
Dean must be a lunatic.
Don't sugar coat it. Tell us what you really think.
I thought Dean was a Ho.
But the point of the article was that he is NOT raising any money.
Thats not exactly what he said. he said "This is a struggle of good and evil. And we're the good."
Sorry, my bad, I listed Dean twice in the group.
bump
If Dean wanted more people to attend his function, he should have invited Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church. They are all registered Democrats.
Even if he was raising money either for himself or the party, it wouldn't be a helluva lot, according to the article.
now if we can just get the marxi-crats to nominate gore/kerry in 2008......
His job is to fire up the troops and raise money.
The trouble is that he's firing up the GOP and helping them raise money in record amounts.
You just KNOW that Rush and Sean are gonna devote HOURS to this stuff over the next few weeks!
I wish Dean was to come to my town so that we wouldn't listen to him either.
Don't get too happy about Dean.....I believe he's a set up for Hillary.....she'll look "moderate" compared to him....
(Denny Crane: "There are two places to find the truth. First God and then Fox News.")
That's it in the nutshell.
The "logic" behind Dean is that he'll bring the campaign donations in AND he'll pull in the base with his rhetoric. The Dems' theory is similiar to ours. Energize the base and pull previous non voters into the process. Dean believes they'll be Libs hiding out in red states he can recruit. And, there probably are. As there are Conserves in Blue states. If the popular vote had been closer kerry would have contested the election even though it was obvious Bush won. He still held out into the next day and encouraged the Boxer rebellion.
The trouble with their theory is that they energized our base even more. Worse, they turned off enough Dems and Indy's that we won by comfortable margin. Conceivably we still have a margin between 5-10% that can be swung to our side from the last of the remaining Conserve Democrats and Indy's. The more they abuse this group, the more Rep voters we pick up.
Trashing pastors isn't winning him favors in the long run. Religion is supposed to be apolitical. I have never trashed a minister for being a Democrat. I'll call them to account if they aren't teaching according to scipture, but that's another matter and I'd do the same for a Republican. If I were a Faithful Dem still in that party, this would further push me closer to leaving.
Yawn.....
Ha,ha! What a turd! He couldn't even get out Ohio-transplant, tax raising, anti death penalty governor to show! Naturally, the leftie newspaper editors swooned over him, especially his hate-speech about conservatives. (That's a common theme in the KS media)
Note to Dean......you are a psycho, get thee to a rest home now.
No, it isn't about abortion, women making up their mind, or right-wing pastors and politicians. It is about you f'ing monsters slaughtering millions and millions of babies. You can try sleight of hand to change the subject, but you can't spin away 40 million dead babies and the blood on your hands. You are the abortion party - those blood stains are not going to come off. So, if you're wondering who is good or evil I suggest that you just look at the blood on your hands and get a clue.
Lawrence is a fantasy world sub-zone of the left coast and a minor step child of the eastern liberal establishment. Most townies are not liberals and but most gownies are. It's the one place within a days drive of Kansas City where you can still find hippie culture flourishing. Also was the home of Jack Kerouac - the "father"? of the beat generation.....
Hmmm...looks like Monica lost her contact lenses. Boy, does she have a surprise coming...
Keep talking Howard.
According to some items which came up on a Google search, John Hiebert is a local cardiologist. One of the items referred to his wife as Nancy, so it's definitely the same man. I was expecting him to be a KU professor. As of 1995 he was chairman of the Kansas Board of Regents.
"The issue is not abortion," Dean told the closed-door fund-raiser. "The issue is whether women can make up their own mind instead of some right-wing pastor, some right-wing politician telling them what to do."
This is the only news of the week for his party? I'm having a hard time hiding my glee.
Yes indeed. I hope he's just getting warmed up. The other night at dinner a group of Canadians (nice folks) asked us and another Republican couple at the table what we thought of Howard Dean.
Our simultaneous outburst of laughter probably told them more than any words we spoke, LOL!
>Thats not exactly what he said. he said "This is a struggle >of good and evil. And we're the good."
Umm, how do you not get that he is calling Republicans evil from this statement? Let's dissect it.
Two choices, good and evil. "WE'RE" equals Democrats. He is surely not talking about the Green party here. Also, if the THEM is not good, the only option is evil.
Therefore, according to Dean, Republicans are evil.
That was a perfect and yet spontaneous response!
Is that Evita?
