Puts the "turning Saddam's half-brother over to Iraq" story in a different light. I think Mr. Assad has to be looking over his own shoulder. Based on nothing other than pure speculationn, I anticipate a coup in Syria within a year.

I'm beginning to feel like I did at the fall of the Berlin Wall. Unfortunately I had that same feeling at the start of the Tiannenmen Square protests. But with the changes occurring in Egypt, Afghanistan, Palestine, etc., it's looking like the Iraq election was the Mideast's "Tipping Point". What an amazing time to be alive.

I'm not sure; there was suppose to be a vote of "no confidence" in the government -- but all those people showed up outside the building and they resigned!
Whatever happened, you can bet they are moving this very second to HIDE whatever they have soared there that will incriminate them!

Feb 28, 11:57 AM EST BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Omar Karami announced the resignation of his pro-Syrian government Monday, two weeks after the assassination of his predecessor, Rafik Hariri, triggered protests in the streets and calls for Syria to withdraw thousands of troops. "I am keen that the government will not be a hurdle in front of those who want the good for this country. I declare the resignation of the government that I had the honor to head. May God preserve Lebanon," Karami said.
The announcement prompted cheers from more than 25,000 flag-waving demonstrators protesting against the government and its Syrian backers outside the parliament building.
