I see dead people (Hollywood Wackjob Alert!)

I SEE DEAD PEOPLE

Keanu claims he has a Sixth Sense

Exclusive By John Millar

IN an eerie echo of movie The Sixth Sense, Keanu Reeves says he can 'see dead people'. The Hollywood star revealed his ghostly experiences in a remarkable interview about his new supernatural thriller, Constantine. When we meet in Los Angeles for the launch of the movie, Keanu tells me he has seen ghosts on at least two occasions. As he notices I'm goggle-eyed, he asks where I'm from - and, when I say Scotland, he laughs and says: 'My God, man, that's full of ghosts! You gotta walk on the moors at a certain time.' Maybe the rest of us are just not as sensitive as Keanu, who details two vivid examples. Once, he was lunching with a friend in Austin, Texas, looked round and saw a ghost appear behind him.

His popularity is beyond comprehension. Who likes him? Who thinks he has any talent? Anyone?

He should spend less time seeing dead people and more time reading scripts before he signs on.

I watched Point Break this weekend(I'm not sure why). My wife and I were lying in bed laughing at how bad of an actor he is. I mean he was really bad. Funny bad. Its like there is always a Ted from BnTExAdv behind all his characters.

While not bad to look at, his work stinks - right up there with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Well, he does have a look about him that some females find attractive but I can't help but think I'd have a deeper conversation with a box of Hamburger Helper.

"As he notices I'm goggle-eyed, he asks where I'm from."

'I work for Google. We all wear googles' I answered, putting him at ease.

Laugh if you want but I've like most of his movies. Also, I can't remember him ever making a political statement which is to his credit.

I don't think he can articulate a friendly greeting much less a political statement. The guy has trouble conveying basic human interactions like 'Hello' 'How are you?' and the like. :-) Though he was good in Parenthood and the Bill and Ted films where he fit.

Who's weirder?

William Hurt or Keanu Reaves?

It would be awfully hard to beat Hurt.

Bill: George Washington: the father of our country.
Ted: Also born on President's Day.
Bill: The dollar bill guy.
Ted: Hey, did you ever make a mushroom out of his head--?
Bill: Ted?
Ted: What?
Bill: Alaska.
Ted: Oh yeah.
Ted: Had wooden teeth, chased Moby Dick!
Bill: That's Captain Ahab, dude...

I'm with you. While I find his romantic comedy work to be beyond lame, I like his action/sci fi flicks. I just saw "Constantine" and I really enjoyed it despite the theological problems.

The guy is also extremely generous to the people he works with and he's a sweetie for the way he's taking care of his terminally ill sister. Plus, he's hot.

THe difference I suppose is that Reaves is a mediocre actor, where as Hurt is top notch.

Reaves is getting better though. Acting (like most things)is a combination of talent and skill. Talent you can't do much about, you have it or not. But you can improve a skill if you keep practicing. Reaves has had a lot of practice, so it's only natural he'd improve.

I do, I like him. He has some talent. He has wierded out lately, kind of new-agey, druggie mysticism that isn't really anything. It's hard to say. He was Neo in the first Matrix. (The next 2 paled.) He's good looking and he has that voice. Not the Bill & Ted affection or accent. Just that beautiful sounding voice. His acting runs hot and cold. I especially liked him in Speed and The Replacements (don't laugh)and the first Matrix. He was strangely convincing as an abusive husband type in 'The Gift'. I didn't care for the movie overall but found him scary in that role, a departure from his usual. I didn't see Constantine and most likely won't.

I agree with you about his generosity and love of his sister. I was unaware of the care-taking he was engaged in with his sister. You know, I'm a happily married woman, with a five year old daughter and a son due in July. I am very happy in my life, yet must listen to friends who are single complain about trying to find a good man. Eccentricities and obscene wealth aside, those qualities exhibited by Mr. Reeves-his generosity and caring, his sense of responsibility and ability to be comfortable with his own company- are traits women should prize and seek out. Those are truly rare. (of course I have advised them to join FR, all the best men are here :) )

Actually Keanu Reeves is well known to be an extremely decent and charitable guy.

Plus he tragically lost his unborn child and the child's mother a few years ago in two seperate incidents.

Leave the guy alone

For the most part, Keanu Reeves has managed to keep his private life his own. Unfortunately, when his name has appeared in the media, aside from his acting career, it has often been associated with tragedy.

In 1999, Keanu and girlfriend Jennifer Syme lost their baby just weeks before the due date.

The couple later separated, but were reportedly rekindling their relationship when Syme was killed in a car accident in April, 2001.

Keanu's sister Kim, with whom he has always been very close, suffers from leukemia.

Keanu has done much to help his sister and others afflicted with the disease.

He is a very limited actor. But in movies like Constantine and Matrix he fits the part to a tee. No one could have played those characters better.

I liked it quite a bit. If you can find interesting the existance of a man who knows for a fact that Heaven and Hell exists and hates the devil but isn't quite sold on God either then I would highly reccomend the movie. I didn't find the movie to be Christian bashing either.

I was able to speak with Keanu twice and both times he was both gracious AND articulate. The first time was at Cooper Stadium in Columbus, OH when he was touring with his band. I was extremely pregnant and with my two teenage kids. We waited for hours to get on the in-field to see him afterwards. My son, then around 12, held his hand out for an autograph with a paper and pencil. People pushed and shoved and Keanu saw my son, pulled him out of line and said "No others, but this young man, definately." My son got his autograph and a handshake, I got a hug and a "Hi Mom", my daughter - then 14, almost passed out. LOL!!

While his acting comes and goes, he is alright in my book. And him being 40? He has me beat. LOL. If he sees ghosts, more power to him. Any man that can accomplish what he has in life, be generous and compassionate and overcome the obstacles he has through the years in his personal life - well, I'd call myelf lucky to have him!

(hopping off my soapbox!!!)
