Police reportedly found the gun and illegal drugs while executing a search warrant at Stevens' home in connection with a spate of drive-by shootings in the area. Let's see, her first son was killed by a firearm and now her home is searched in connection with drive by shootings. I'm only guessing here, but it sounds like her children are a little out of control. Maybe she needs to look to her parenting skills as the problem, instead of guns.

To: Casloy
There is some info missing here that could prove interesting.
These drive-by shootings...is she involved?
Is someone in her family involved?
If so, maybe they thought their anti-gun position wasn't strong enough so they decided to add more "evidence" that gun control needs to happen, by shooting at people...
Wouldn't put it past a whack job lib....
To: NRA1995
She told a newspaper the gun belonged to her late son, and when she found it, she didn't know what to do with it, so she put it in a drawer.Sure she didn't! No one in her position would ever be able to figure out that the gun needed to be taken to the police. Or that she could contact a lawyer from her own organization for advice on how to deal w/ the situation "quietly" (assuming, koff, koff, that what she says about the gun's origin is true). Nope, nope nope... just wouldn't happen.

Maybe she should have been a little more conservative instead of liberal with the disciplining of her kids. This is what a liberal outlook on guns and family will get you.

She blames guns for the death of her son, but keeps the gun he was carrying at the time of his death.
To do this is signs of a mental disorder.

Ya see. We need gun laws so stuff like this doesn't happen. If gun laws were stricter she wouldn't have been able to obtain an illegal gun. In addition , she wouldn't even need a gun if it was illegal for others to own. Its all the fault of NRA members.

Thats typical Dem thinking..It's always about what would be good for OTHER PEOPLE!...their elitist attitude puts them above the fray!..the difference between a liberal and a conservative is...A conservative bases his politics on his morals..a liberal bases his morals on his politics..hence to a lib..the end justifies the means and they feel a moral superiority by thinking they are solving a perceived problem for OTHERS! (drives me crazy! they really cant see the hypocrisy..to do so would ruin their false sense of superiority...)

"The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) called it a classic case of "liberal elitists" who "cannot walk their own talk." That sums it up in a nutshell for me.

Wow! Her having a firearm is amazing however her having an illegal firearm is priceless! Too bad that none of the on-line articles had a picture of her or of her arrest. Welcome to the criminal justice system lady. You truly earned it.

Sure, the search was illegal
. That's pretty much what every felon says when caught with their pants down.
She says the gun belonged to her late son and she didn't know what to do with it. I thought she was the president of a gun control group. Doesn't sound very likely does it?
Say bye bye, hypocrite.

She said the police wrongly believe she is the ringleader of the shootings, and they think she has information to solve those cases, as well as others, including the December murder of Andre Ayers, 22, who was shot as a procession of cars wound through the city's east side.
"This is a blatant attempt to try and undermine me," she said Monday night. "... They can't solve these crimes, and I'm familiar with these individuals, so they're going after me because I socialize with all of them."
This sure sounds to me like she is protecting criminals. I don't know any other way to look at it. The cops seem to think she knows who is responsible for these drive by's, and is refusing to give them up.
This stinks to high heaven of inner city gang involvement. Gun control advocate my arse!
