can't believe the current results
Thanks face! I stink at HTML as you can plainly see.
"can't believe the current results"
I can't either. But then I've been debating some pretty serious Liberal Kool Aid drinkers on the local forum back there. They are 100% dyed in the wool DUmmies. Never thought I'd find people like THAT in my hometown.
We've closed the gap to 65% - 35%. Let's keep it up!
Nah Midland is pretty conservative. Real conservative. All the corporate execs live in Midland all the roughnecks in Odessa.
Both are not the places you'd expect to become the next hotbed of Liberalism.
Of the last three Dems who ran for govenor ONE came out to Midland/Odessa to campaign. Tony Gonzalez.
Ma Richards and Mark White both seemed to think West Texas ment Laredo.
Needs more freeping.
I agree but I don't have the Texas ping lists. If you know anybody that does can you let them know?
The gap is closing.
Keep up the good work fellow Texans.
Let's get this poll back on our side.
HOOAH! Arrowhead!
The gap has closed since I posted this thread.
It's now down to 57.8% yes and up to 42.2% no.
FReeped and bumped.
Some people are so ignorant about the history of this Country. What did they do? FAIL 10th Grade US History?
Statistical Fact: 50% of all H.S. seniors graduated in the bottom half of their class.....and then there are those who didn't get that far!

Yes 59.4% No 40.6% votes: 1553
I think it is rigged. Earlier, I viewed the results, and then voted - no change in the "NO" votes.
Hmmm, you may be right. I voted twice (LOL)and still no change.
Yes
59.4%
No
40.6
Come on Freepers. These are the current numbers. Freep this poll, and get the "No's" count up. (if we can!)
I called my husband and he just voted from computer at work. 1573 votes recorded (number of votes is going up) Results are: 59.3 on the "Yes," 40.7 on the "No". He is watching it....said "No's" are starting to climb. Come on everyone....get those "no's" up there.
Isn't this the paper that endorsed Kerry? I believe that was Bush's hometown paper. The editor is very anti-Bush I recall.
You are so right about the anti-Bush editor. I voted at 7:30 this am and the numbers have not changed as much as they should have. I even tried voting twice - it let me vote but upon show of results, the number of votes stayed the same as when I voted the first time.
voted
So maybe someone in TEXAS needs to look into this and make an expose of this poll?
It figures. Thanks. What the Liberal rags can't report truthfully, they make up!
If the "Yes" votes win this, you know it will make news nationwide. Just like his comments against Bush. IMHO this seems like a "sleeper" to me that has to be watched and we have to get the numbers up on the "No" side.
hahaha! He's probably an editor by day, and a DU poster by night. :^)
That would make him the "Day Editor" and "Night Stalker."
We need more votes.
hahahahaa! :^D
Justice Kennedy must be polling American pubic opinion so he can write his opinion.
done. No - 41.7%
Dear Truth Seekers:
"If I was a betting person I would bet that the Supreme Court will rule in favor of this Ten Commandment monument since it represents the false god of the Secret Societies. The Eye of Horus is there in all its glory in the middle of the pyramid with sun rays behind it. Kinda looks like AOL's logo. What do you think? (unfortunately my computer is adjusted so that I cannot view and paste this photo)

This has to do with the Ten Commandments in Austin, Texas Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly . COVER STORY . U.S. Supreme Court and the Ten Commandments . February 11, 2005 | PBS TIM O'BRIEN:
The Ten Commandments have been on display at the Texas state capitol for more than 40 years -- one of dozens of such monuments donated to states and cities by the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a national civic group. DONATED BY THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES!"
I have notified them of the poll in the Midland Texas website Link to mywesttexas.com that we are Freeping. I don't know if they are aware of it, but if not, perhaps it will get a mention on Kelly's show, and her listeners will vote "NO" as a result. She was also advised of our efforts in responding to this poll and the suspiciously slow change the poll results.

heh obviously there is a forum somewhere with people trying to rig it with a yes vote just as you guys are trying to rig it with no.
I voted but we're still behind. :(
Don't feel too bad. We decided this one is rigged.
Oh, for cryin' out loud! What'd they do, poll Austin???
There's some really weird people in Midland...thankfully a small group but still the kind of people that will sit there and vote 1000 times to keep the poll on their side.
And IMHO I suspect they have some sympathizers at the newspaper that run the website as well.
44.8% FReeped...
I heard a bit of the Gregg Knapp show last night and he had on Texas Solicitor General who is hopeful we'll get to keep our monument because it is part of a larger display. I'll be on pins and needles until I hear the decision.
I bet this idiot loses THIS case. Really! :^D
