GOP drive to woo blacks via church alarms Brazile
The Washington Times ^ | March 3. 2005 | Donald Lambro

Posted on 03/03/2005 3:30:34 PM PST by Coastal

An aggressive Republican campaign to court black voters with the help of church leaders "should be cause for alarm" among Democrats, who risk losing a larger share of their most loyal political constituency, says Democratic strategist Donna Brazile.

Miss Brazile, one of her party's most respected voter outreach specialists, warned Democrats at the start of the 2004 election cycle: "Don't take African-American voters for granted." At the end of that cycle, President Bush had increased his share of the black vote to 11 percent nationally and by 13 percent to 16 percent in battleground states such as Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Awww... She's alarmed.

Sorry, Donna. I'm all out of Give-a-Damn for what you Dems are alarmed about.

Too many blacks are "movin on up" and off the plantation in spite of the dems who have kept them down. Too many blacks are experiencing self made success (that's the satisfying kind). And all the successful blacks are saying to themselves that success wasn't as hard as they had been led to believe. Now the dems are losing them in the churches. BTW, it's got to be hard to be a dem church goer.

The only thing missing from this is a warning from her that the Dems need to pay here more to prevent the loss. LOL

Don't take African-American voters for granted

Why not? They take European-American voters for granted. At least the ones who have not read the Constitution.

The last African-American to be elevated by the democrats to any position of power and influence was Ron Brown. And there's fairly good evidence to suggest that he was "Vince Fosterized."

Until then, Thurgood Marshall was the only other African-American that dems sponsored. Contrast that with the Republican record of elevating competent women and minorities to positions of responsibility and it's no contest.

If you still have doubts, Robert "Domestic Terrorist" Byrd was the Senate democrat point man during Dr. Rice's recent confirmation hearing. Byrd's selection is an endorsement of a passive-aggressive KKK activity by the dems.

Let's also not forget elitist DNC Chair Howeird Dean's belief that the only minorities that show up at a GOP event are busboys, etc. And finally there's John "Blow hard" Kerry who has an African-American servant on-call to make the toy war hero peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Change the subject.

By the way, what the hell is a "European-American"? Are you naturalized or something?

Should be easy for us, too, now that the DemocRATS were kind enough to show blacks their true colors during the hearings on Dr. Rice. Maybe they realize that the RATS only have use for them every four years.

RATS have no use for middle-class blacks. It's the same with immigrant Hispanics -- by all means, speak your language - don't learn English. That way, when you can only get a job as a gardner or a maid, we'll be able to employ you.

The Dems have painted themselves into a corner. They only people that they have left voting for them are the professional "victim groups" like blacks and other minorities who see themselves as victims. Blacks are now threatening to flee the Democratic plantation if the Dems don't delivery more freebes. The problem is....if they don't deliver more freebes, they lose more black votes. By continuing to move further left, they know they will never win another national election. My, my, what's a Dem to do? It's fun to watch them squirm :)

Hey, my great great grandmother was black. But she was never a slave. She was from Ireland. So I have always wondered about the "African-American" thing. Not only does it seem to keep people segmented in their own little descriptive boxes, but not all black people are from Africa.

A lot of blacks were really disgusted by the way the Dems treated Dr. Rice.

It didn't hurt Rice at all. (she was praised during her trip to Europe soon after). IMHO It was a really stupid move by the Dems.

Jorge - Stupid moves seems to be their stock in trade lately. We're looking at at least 8 more years if they don't get their damn act together.

They can start with censuring Sheets Byrd for his Nazi remarks. But I wouldn't hold my breath.....
