In the picture accompanying "N.J. senators seek a ban on powerful assault pistol" (3-4), I was disappointed to observe Senator Frank Lautenberg ignoring one of the fundamental rules of gun safety.
While displaying the Five Seven pistol he is seeking to ban, Sen. Lautenberg's index finger is clearly on the trigger. Anyone who has taken a basic pistol safety course can affirm that one of the first rules taught to students is never to touch the trigger until you are ready to fire the weapon.
Gun control remains a volatile issue in this country, but advocates on both sides of the issue should agree that safety when handling a firearm is critical.

2. Penetration of class III body armor (if it indeed does) is accomplished with a very specialized projectile. Hard and pointy pointy.
3. That hard and pointy ammo IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE MILITARY AND THE POLICE, NOT NOT NOT TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC!!!!!

In that upper picture, Schumer looks like he's actually enjoying himself. I guess he figured out that throwing a few rounds downrange really is a lot of fun; he just doesn't want the rest of us to enjoy it.

Such rules and laws only apply to "pro-gun-rights" folks. The anti-gunners can willfully violate any and all laws, rules, and regulations when they are staging their anti-gun stunts--things that would get thee and me as gun-owners arrested in a microsecond.
