The killers haven't been caught. It's a cover-up in progress. The pols and LEOs are handing-off the the blame to non-islamics for the beheadings. They're afraid for their families' safety.

This crap is just starting. Get ready; it's going to be a *bumpy ride*, S.

Orinary robbers are not heinous throat slashers like these.
I am not saying that I believe this, for it is too Islamic for me to believe.

it's possible that these dirtbags got in there after they were killed by someone else, and decided to take advantage and steal their ATM card

That's a possibility. The arrests just don't pass the smell test. It's known this guy is preaching the Lord and angering the muzzle'ems. The family is tied up and their THROATS SLIT including the children. Just doesn't sound like a couple junkies. Just doesn't.

"...DeFazio gave the following account of the killings: On the evening of Jan. 11, McDonald waited on the front porch of the two-story house for Sanchez to arrive. When he got there at about 7:30, McDonald knocked on the door and Garas opened it. Wearing a mask to hide his face, McDonald pushed his way into the ground-floor apartment, where he and Sanchez subdued the mother and her two girls, tying them up and covering their mouths with tape.

They remained bound that way for more than two hours until Hossam Armanious returned home between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. from his job with the banquet department of the Westin Princeton Hotel. As he entered the house, Monica managed to loosen the rope that bound her hands, and removed the tape from her mouth.

She recognized McDonald as the upstairs tenant of about two months, and he killed her, fearing she would be able to identify him to police, DeFazio said.

"From there, tragically, the situation spiraled out of control," he said. Sanchez then killed the father, mother and older sister by stabbing each repeatedly in the head, neck and body, the prosecutor said.

McDonald, who paid $975 a month to rent the upstairs apartment from Armanious, was questioned the day the bodies were found, but was not charged. He and Sanchez discussed robbing the family well in advance, thinking they had access to a large sum of money, DeFazio said.

McDonald was on parole following a conviction for possession of more than 500 grams of cocaine with intent to distribute, Assistant Prosecutor Patrick Rivoli said in court. Sanchez was on parole for a 1995 conviction on charges of conspiring to import "significant amounts" of heroin and cocaine into the country, Rivoli said.

The arrests were welcomed by Christian and Muslim groups who said they were deeply hurt by the tension the killings - and speculation about the motive behind them - had caused.

"Everybody is relieved that there is no religious implication behind it," said Maged Riad, a spokesman for the worldwide head of the Coptic Church, Pope Shenouda. "Just for money, four lives were wasted. It's sad to think that the human race has devolved to this point."

Funny this was the only thing taken. And how do they know the little girl was tortured to extract the passcode, I assume from the parents?

But the fact that they WAS "stayin'" upstairs lends cred to the idea that they killed them rather than leave them tied up, because they knew they'd be around.

"This was apparently a robbery gone wrong."

Hubby made a good point to me tonight, maybe the killer was trying to make it look like an Islamofacist murder, he certainly would have known they were Christians, not Muslims, and he might have known about their proslyetizing. This would explain why it "sorta, kinda" looked like a religiously motivated crime, and yet was not "exactly" right.

Since they were waiting for the father to come home, it would appear that the mother did not have an ATM card. Unusual?

They had masks on when they pushed their way in, but took them off after they had subdued the family. Perhaps they felt safe at that time.

The bodies were decomposing downstairs for several days. Meanwhile, Sanchez and McDonald were calmly using the ATM over a period of days.

If the ATM was used immediately, then these could be our killers. If there was a delay, however, it gives one pause.

"****I wonder at what point did the alledged killers obtain the pin numbers ?"

If they had the PIN before Monica got loose, why didn't they just leave then? If they didn't have the PIN yet, they could have forced it out and then killed the family.

Detectives picked up the man, identified by a relative as Edward McDonald, 25, after reviewing surveillance videos from ATMS in Jersey City and Manhattan, WABC-TV and WNBC-TV reported.

Despite his claim of innocence, Hamilton Sanchez has now been charged with felony murder, along with 25-year-old Edward McDonald, who according to police came up with the plan to rob his downstairs neighbor.

New Jersey Department of Corrections records show that on Feb. 22, 2002, McDonald was sentenced to three years in the slammer for distributing drugs on school property.

He was paroled on Sept. 9, 2003, after serving about 18 months.

They meant to rob, not kill the family.

The youngest daughter broke free at one point and saw one the killers, so then then proceeded to kill the whole family so they couldnt be identified.

The killings are too calculated for them to be "unplanned"; they could have just killed the daughter, too.

If she "broke free" why did they tie her up again and "puncture" her throat, these guys are "throat slitters" if anything, or, they could have beaten them to death, they were "helpless".

Then they took the time to wipe the scene clean of fingerprints?

They were a part of it, they facilitated the entry of the killers and were paid with the card.

McDonald had his girlfriend and two kids upstairs while killing everyone downstairs ?
Wow that'd be cold if it were true.

"McDonald, who moved in about two months before the crime, remained at the Oakland Avenue address with his two young children and his girlfriend for at least three days after the slayings, DeFazio said.

Authorities interviewed him the day the bodies were found.

"We never thought about this guy," Amal Garas' brother Ayman Garas said. "We thought maybe it was somebody from the outside. My sister used to mention he was a very good guy."

Noise.

Pillows, gun placed close to the base of the skull, then again, they were druggies, if they panicked they would have fired, especially if the little girl "broke free" as has been reported.

The break in the case came after prosecutors got a court order to review the family's financial records. They found that about $3,000 in ATM withdrawals were made from the family's account days after the slayings. Surveillance tape from the banks led officials to a car registered to McDonald's mother, DeFazio said.>>>

Same here, Fred.

I really want to believe it as well, but there is so much here that makes little or no sense. Many people where I live wish to believe that as well, but nothing here makes it look like other than what we have stated before.

What is particularly striking is the length of time it took to see that someone was using the ATM card/PIN-code, and then act on it. According to every cop I know, that is the FIRST thing they look for. Besides, the so-called perpetrators lefts scad of nice jewelry about at the scene---jewelry that could have easily been "converted" into cash.

Like I have said---I keep hoping that it WAS "merely" a robbery---but see little to prove that true.

WOD, another reason to keep prisoners IN JAIL, the recidivism rate is very high for those involved with the drug trade, most dealers are users.

Days after the slayings...perhaps it was a theft of convenience? Perhaps this skel saw the purse lying unattended and rifled through it and the PIN was written near it. Some people do that with their PINS, keep them written down close to the card.

It just doesn't fit right

NOTHING in this "investigation" smells right----ask any cop how long it takes to get the financials of a victim!
The cops here in CT are laughing at the rank stupidity of what is coming out of JC, and so are my friends on the job in NYC.

It sure as hell isn't any six-to-eight weeks. In fact, it's usually (tops) five days or so. This case gets stranger by the moment.

So, the two drug peddlers, one of whom lived upstairs, find the door open and help themselves to the contents of the father's wallet and quickly depart the scene...they don't take jewelry because jewelry can be identified. They don't want to be linked to the murders, but can't resist the opportunity to get their hands on quick cash. As druggies, their brains are so addled they haven't the nouse to leave town, they go back to their 'normal' life - meanwhile the police are watching them, to see if they contact, or are contacted by anyone else who may be implicated. But the perps have long gone. They are no longer in the country. All the police have now is the two druggies, circumstantial evidence (possession of the ATM card and the PIN number that was probably in the wallet) and now the real investigation starts.
Forensics.
I wouldn't even believe a confession right now.
That's MO in plain aussie-speak.

Hey, my speculations won't convict anyone innocent, and surely you've heard of instances where someone confessed to something they didn't do because they were promised a lighter sentence if they plead guilty?
There are two individuals under questioning. One will attempt to shift blame onto the other, or the police will use the usual tactic: Confess, your friend has already told us the truth.
I'm reasonable. All I am saying is I want to see forensics prove either one of these men actually were physically involved in the killings.

RE: Neither the Jewell story nor the "Muslims Did It" story rang true to anyone who thought about things a bit.

Cute.

I will try again. First I will defer to Dr. Daniel Pipes.

I know for a fact how much CAIR despises and fears Dr. Daniel Pipes. Locally CAIR tried desperately (with help from employees of the Sacramento Bee) to get local talkshow host Mark Williams to cancel Dr. Pipes' appearance on the show. That was last year. What were they afraid of I wonder.

About this case: If radical Islam is involved, Dr. Pipes says, then "it raises a most alarming prospect of the importation of Shari‘a to America. I suspect, however, that government, media, academy, churches, and others will prefer not to see this horrifying development for what it is. (January 20, 2005)" [My emphasis, and belief also]

Have druggies been charged in the Theo van Gogh's murder in Holland?

http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/398

In another article at his site Dr. Pipes reminds us of several instances over the past few years including the Beltway snipers. Remember? Angry white guys doing the shooting. Angry white guys in a white van.

If I recall at least one cop had seen the two Muslims near the site of the second shooting. But noooooooo, the "experts" and the chief said the shooters were angry white guys and by god that's all we're looking for.

Are the two druggies guilty? I cannot say that they are or not. I can say that many sure hope that they can be found guilty.

I just want the truth whether it proves or disproves my own opinion about this case.

But one of them was using the dead father's ATM card.

It is completely possible that the druggies came upon the murder scene and plundered the victims. This would explain the use of the ATM card.

The druggies could even have been told to go to the house to see something "interesting". This would give the cops a false trail.

Despite the outcry that it was this woman's ex-husband, with all the motive, etc., making family members SURE it was him....it turned out to be the neighbors, who had robbed the woman for...

or the police will use the usual tactic

Police use techniques to determine if confessions are false. (Of course they don't always work, but ask any cop if they can usually get a pretty good feel for things, and my experience has been that most good cops are professionals who have uncanny abilities that I could only dream of.)

Since it's a passing potential you're feeding your family based on the work you do here, let me pass along a tip. Speak for yourself. Never attempt to fortify your point by pulling in some crowd -- as in a line like "to anyone who thought about things about it." That's a killer. It kills any point you were trying to make.

No genuine poster on any significiant forum or blog and expecially FR is gonna take kindly to being told that what they think in their own mind and how they came to think what they so think is against what many other folks think. They will not suffer it.

So here you are ruined.

Consequently my advice to you now is "Get lost." Take a different assignment. Find some other way to feed the kiddies.

McDonald and Sanchez donned masks and began carrying out their evil plan at about 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 14, authorities said. They knocked on the door of the Oakland Avenue home, then forced their way in with a semi-automatic handgun after Amal Garas, a postal worker, opened the door.

The robbers had been in the home for about 31/2 hours and were in the process of rummaging through the family's belongings when Monica was finally able to free herself — first wriggling her little hands out of the duct-tape handcuffs, then pulling the tape from over her eyes and mouth. But she was soon spotted by McDonald as she tried to flee into a bathroom, DeFazio said. He mercilessly butchered the elementary school girl and left her body in a bloody pool on the bathroom tiles, the prosecutor said.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Just playing Devil's advocate here, but the Armanious house apparently has peepholes on the doors. Did the alledged killers actually cover the peehole so Mrs. Armanious couldnt look outside before opening the door ?

It seems odd to me that she'd just swing open the door when she's home alone with her daughters.

I live down the hill from J.C. Heights and my town is much safer crimewise then The Heights. And there is still no way I'd ever open the doors to any strangers even if they were begging for help.....

It's interesting to note how many papers are now covering this story worldwide and are portraying the Prosecutor accusations as gospel fact.

Hudson County Prosecutor Ed DeFazio talks to the media in Jersey City, N.J., Friday, March 4, 2005, about the arrest of two suspects in the case of a slained Jersey City family.

Excuse you, but the murdered family had had death threats from Muslims online.
It was not too far a jump to wonder if Muslims had done it.
