I have a second question for her: if her Iraqi captors were so swell, how come she was kidnapped and some fool in the Italian govt. had to pony up approx. $1 million to get her released? These don't sound like friends.

Ms. Reporter: Next time maybe we shouldn't put our people at risk as they try to save your ungrateful hide. (shouldn't say that now, should I?)

Soldiers and Marines are getting killed everyday yet this story makes international news? Iam a soldier stationed in Bayji, Iraq and I can say with confidence that the consequences of running a military check point or interfering with a convoy are widely known .Mistakes are made sometimes but this is the atmosphere created by the insurgents, not us.

There was another thread earlier that pointed out that she has been caught in lies in her story about the shooting. For instance she said in her first report that there was a bright light and then they were fired on. The next time they asked her she said there was no light. Just your average lying communist!

""I was never treated badly," Sgrena told her colleagues at Il Manifesto upon her arrival in Rome.
Of course she wasn't treated badly... Once her "captors" realized that Sgrena was actually a Lib/Socialist/Communist reporter, they probably wined and dined her.
Her past "journalistic" writings actually make Howard Dean look like a conservative. She is a piece of work, that's for sure...

"
Covering the Iraq war for Italy's communist newspaper, Il Manifesto, Sgrena painted a sharply negative picture, for instance, of last November's U.S. assault on Fallujah." Oh my, a negative picture of the US dished up by a self avowed communist. I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!

Hey there is a big difference between this woman and the brave Italian who told the terrorists to watch how a man dies! God rest his soul.

Does anyone expect her to say: yes, we were driving at high speed and I understand the killing of the man who just rescued me. How she was rescued in the first place is interesting. A "James Bondish" Italian intelligence officer just went in there and plucked her out. Hmmmm. Her captors must have downed a lot of sleeping pills.

Please provide, if you can, an alternative daily Italian paper over there, on the web (in Italian is fine) from the conservative or anti-Communist perspective, that can give us a different view of this whole thing, compared to the lies of il Manifesto, La Repubblica, Corriere, etc. etc.

If she wasn't treated badly, why was she begging for release?Perhaps because the whole thing was a fraud? A scheme to provide the insurgents, whose cause she supports, with a million dollars given as ransom?

And we care what she says because?
Why is the MSM perpetuating this BS?
Apparently they believe some two bit journalist that has NO USE for the United States, over OUR OWN MILITARY.

The reporter who filmed a soldier killing a terrorist in Fallujah was also "captured and released". The terrorist scumbags know who their friends are.

Her beliefs are in the ash heap of history primarily because of the USA. Her reaction is hardly surprising. Don't expect the MSM to treat this fairly. There beliefs are in the ash heap of history too and they are VERY bitter about it.
