We were on our way to the airport when the tanks started to strike against us and he tried to cover me and he was shot. He died and, me, I was safe but he was dead.
When did you become aware that your car was being fired at?
We had no signal. We were just on the way to the airport. They started to shoot at us without any light or signal. There was no block, there was nothing. It was so immediate. I didn't know how I was alive after all that attack.

But the journalist and her supporters seem to think that kidnapping journalists and holding them for ransom is a legitimate tactic (They've hardly complained about it choosing instead to use it as a weapon against us and Berlusconi). They cannot then complain if those who don't agree with them choose to kill hostages rather than let them be ransomed.

Yes - she is a reporter for a Communist newspaper. She has written articles viciously attacking the United States and the US military. Her articles have said that the US military tortures women and children; that people have heard the children screaming as they were being tortured; and that women were thrown violently against the wall and forced to separate feces from urine with their bare hands; that Fallaja has been turned by the US into a city of death where the US soldiers indiscriminately slaughter the inhabitants. She doesn't give any exact sources - she just says that "this is what she has heard from Iraqis." You get the picture?
