I am in agreement there is something very rotten at this school and in the entire academe.
Seems to me the problem is the acdemics who are the Marxists and deconstructionists from the sixties and seventies who are enbedded in the faculty and an administration that has been cowed and afraid to take the little sneaky sociopaths on.
All of academe needs to clean up its act. CU happenes to be in the spotlight but others will too. There are Ward Churchills all over in my opinion.
I am objecting to the broad brush being used here by some who never were at CU and just like making extreme statements, posturing and blustering.
Um, but I am a gull.
I agree 100%.
And hopefully this situation will draw attention to problems in probably the majority of 'institutions of higher learning' all over the country.
To answer my own question, doesn't look like it. The lastest from the CR mailing list:
President Betsy Hoffman submitted her resignation to CU on March 7, 2005, and we fully support her decision to resign. Her inability to hold her faculty accountable to reasonable working ethics and standards makes her resignation long overdue. We have faith in our elected Regents to facilitate the transition from the Hoffman reign to CU's next President. We expect the Regents to take the reign of Betsy Hoffman's final two years at CU as an example of how not to run a university. We urge the Regents to continue their journey into CU's future with integrity, with a desire to rebuild our reputation, and with the realization that we must regain the trust of the public. Hoffman's resignation was a step in the right direction. Churchill's departure will be the next great step. We will host a gathering on Wednesday, March 9 from 12pm - 1:30pm on the Fine Arts Lawn (between the UMC and the Euclid Parking Garage) to show our support for Hoffman's decision. Comy by from some free food and good times! http://www.cugop.org/events/media/resign.html Our message to Hoffman: TAKE WARD WITH YOU We'll see you at the party and then the meeting this Wednesday!====== They don't even mention the athletic department debacle. I guess I was right about the quality of their leadership. Pity they're probably the future leaders of the Colorado GOP.
hmm...I wasn't aware of that...LOL
Didn't you find that little remark about the "C" word being a term of endearment a little ridiculous and highly offensive? I do not care to send my children to a University that condones the behavior of the likes of Hoffman and Churchill.
Oh, for sure. I just didn't put the two together!
BTW, no problem about the girl thing; I post like a really mad guy......LOL.
BTW, no self-respecting "real" woman, if you get my drift, would EVER say such a thing.
Why Was I not pinged with this information? Good News, Good News!
