Be careful with this. IMO, this could apply to some of the Christian denominations too.

Sounds like modern liberalism, doesn't it ? Look at what the libs are doing to Bill Cosby, he dared tell them that their ways are wrong and perverted.

Supernatural events are not 'cultist'. Christianity would be a cult if it said you're doomed to die if you don't believe those things.

I'm not Christian, but it's far from a cult. islam is 100% certified as one though.

Respectfully. What's the point in all of this? What it's gonna solve if you prove it's a cult. Just think, if you changed each instance of the nouns Moslem or Islam to a different Ideology or Persuasion it would probably be Hate Speech. This is their culture. You're not gonna change it. Only a display of power and strength is gonna keep the bad guys in line. But, perjorative invective just gets more people killed.

In a cult the leader is alive. In a religion the laws (thought to be) left by the leader are followed.

Ancient Christianity, probably; modern Christianity, no. Have another adult beverage and get some rest.

You are obviously a blaspheming, satan-worshipping, demon-spawn...there is nothing in other religions that could be considered cultish...especially #s 1,5,7,10 or 12...

New converts are often circled and are isolated from their non-Muslim family and friends.

And forming a new identity... losing your own connection to your family (surname) and adopting a new Muslim first AND last name...

By this measure, Christianity in 1492 was a cult. Given Islam is about 700 years behind the rest of the world, there is hope in the long distant future.

Well, in logic we have something called "argumentum ad numerum". It states that something is true if a lot of people believe in it. But argumentum ad numerum is a logical fallacy.

Anytime someone starts off an argument with this pretense, you can bet and almost certainly win that the argument to follow is flawed logic.

Islam is a "peaceful religion focused on charity and goodwill toward others" ??? What a joke! We all saw how much Islam did to help the unfortuate people hit by the Tsunami. NOTHING! If it were not for Christain Charities and People the death toll would have been ten times worse. And PEACEFUL? What can anyone sane say about that statment?

Have you tried applying that to other Religions? Judaism? Christianity? Hindu? Buddhism?

It does seem a bit too broad...maybe, praying to a nearby phyical object, like the MOON/METORITE (or little kittycat, forgive me, VK. :), to separate it from the real religions.

By your criteria, most born-again Christians would just as well be considered to be members of a cult.

Matches Cult.

I have seen the leftists who use the term "fundies" TRY and apply the same cult reasoning to Christianity. However, it tends to break down because of differing denominations and those who alter words to fit their individual power grabs. (ie mistranslate bible verses or just make them up)

Islam, The Alleged Religion of Peace® ( TARP™ )? Click this picture:

No, I am not exaggerating. Click the pic, go to "last," and read backwards.
If you aren't informed about this stuff, you will be made sick. If you are informed, you will be made mad, all over again.

Unfortunately, science and technology are not about to grant us that much time for this Cauldron to cool off.
