What I think happened is Dobson or someone who works for him got the two websites confused at the beginning and rather than admit the mistake kept the whole silly thing alive.

There were two bits of foolishness here.

First of all, the video itself has nothing to do with pushing the gay agenda. Dobson objects to the teacher's guide which accompanies the video, on rather ridiculous grounds that it promotes homosexuality. If you read what's stated there, you have to make a very liberal interpretation of the guide to read that into it. He also confused the group making the video with a homosexual group with a very similar name, which probably sparked the outrage in the first place. He's responsible for the first bit of foolishness, making a scene about nothing.

The second bit of foolishness was the big media painting it like Dobson was directly calling SpongeBob gay, like the Tinky Winky controversy several years back. That's a willful misstatement of Dobson's words, clearly intended to make him look like an idiot. And it of course launched a million mean-spirited jokes and satires poking fun at Dobson for "outing" SpongeBob.

Since then the leftest pundits have blown it out of proportion spinning it that Dobson thought spongebob way gay.

They were actually putting that spin on it while the documents were still posted at their website. Most people were so busy making queer Sponge Bob jokes we couldn't get their attention to get them to look at the documents. While I was downloading the documents, hundreds of posts were going up about "Sponge Bob is gay." The majority of people on those threads refused to look at the documents. Too much reading I guess.

There was no mistake about which website I downloaded the teaching material from. You could have downloaded it from WAFF too. You could have also taken the time to read it. Obviously you overlooked the excercise for elementary students where the teacher explains to them that homosexual behavior is normal, and the teacher has the students lie on a poster board while the teacher draws their outline, touching the marker to their bodies, while telling them that it's wrong to refuse to let someone touch you just because of their sexual orientation.

Unfortunately there are still too many freepers who have no idea what really happened. Perhaps it's willful ignorance or perhaps they've only heard Dan Rather's report on this issue. Whatever the reason, there are way too many uninformed freepers here.

You appear to be right. I would have taken the time to read it had I known it existed. I apologize and thanks for informing me. :)

That being said, the version of the video and teachers' guide which has actually been distributed has been as sanitized as their website. This group and its SPLC affiliates bear watching in the future, however.

I thought it would be. Are you sure though, because I've heard that they distributed the original material, that they distributed other (sanitized) material, and that they didn't distribute any material at all. I don't have any real confirmation of any of those versions.
