Firefighters Suspended For Sex At Fire Station Fire Department Says It Is Disappointed

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- KCRA 3 has learned that two Sacramento Metro firefighters -- a man and a woman -- have been suspended for having sex in their firehouse.

Fire officials said that both firefighters, one of them a department veteran, have already admitted to sexual activity inside Metro Fire Station No. 23 on Greenback Lane within the past 30 days, according to fire officials.
"We did have a couple of employees involved in inappropriate activities, sexual in nature, and they were then brought in for an interview to process this complaint," said Sacramento Metro Fire Department Spokesman Assistant Chief Jim Hartley.
"The discipline that was imposed was five days off for each individual. Now, that would be five shifts off, which is a 24-hour shift," Hartley said.
That's equivalent to a 15-day suspension.
Sacramento Metro fire officials told KCRA 3 that this is the first time they have ever had to deal with a disciplinary situation involving sexual activity inside one of their firehouses, and that they are keenly disappointed by the firefighters' actions.
"We're held to a higher standard. And when things like this occur, it affects everyone. And that's why we take this so seriously and why we wanted to make sure we sent the correct message," Hartley said.
The Sacramento Metro Fire Department covers all of the unincorporated areas of Sacramento County, plus the cities of Rancho Cordova and Citrus Heights.

The firefighter scandal is just the latest to hit Sacramento. The first involved the Sacramento City Fire Department and the "Porn Star Costume Ball" incident last July, when a woman accused an on-duty firefighter of sexual assault.
Other firefighters were accused of drinking on duty, missing a fire call and lying to investigators. There was also a joyriding investigation. Firefighters were accused of cruising downtown Sacramento bars, picking up women and taking civilians to fires.
Most recently, a female firefighter resigned, and three men were fired for having group sex at the firehouse.

I think Lek Walesa might disagree with your assessment of unions being Communist, since that's how he fought Communism very bravely, AND WON. The problem isn't with unions, you're just used to seeing unions at work in the U.S. for the last three decades. They are corrupt and have been marginally successful in corrupting individuals that we trust as part of our government.

The unreported and I think main point to this incident is male/female firefighters working and sleeping in the same building.
Physical abilities alone restrict (most) female firefighters from doing the firefighting aspect of the job adequately, though they do fine during EMS operations.
I'm sure this type of situation happens all over he country. Where a veteran fireman and a young female firefighter end up romantically involved after working 24hr shifts for a while.
The natural escalation is to heated up and start going after it after hours somewhere in the station.
Where I work we have had this same thing happen, though the two ended up married and working at different stations. The female ended up involved again with another fireman at the other station and was caught in the act. Nearly caused a divorce, but didn't.
At our station we built a separate room and bath in case we have women assigned, but I personally will transfer if they stay permanent, just to avoid the hassle.
Its not their fault. Women can't resist me.

Firemen straighten their hoses all time, status quo.
On the other hand, some firemen have their hoses straightened by someone who knows how to breathe life into them.
My wife can't wait until my department hires the first female. She'll make me demand a transfer. Her opinion. The F.D. is a man's job. Period- end of discussion.
