Real news for Stewart: Wife arrested
Jon Stewart could be forgiven if he arrived a little late to yesterday's taping of "The Daily Show." He was busy getting his wife, Tracey McShane, out of jail. The normally wisecracking comic looked understandably anxious as he waited while his handcuffed sweetheart spent close to five hours being booked for driving with a suspended license.
McShane, 36, was driving through Central Park around 11 a.m. when she was pulled over for a moving violation, police confirmed to us.
Stewart's spokesman, Matt Labov, said: "She wasn't speeding. But the police discovered that she had a suspended license. She didn't even realize it. She paid a ticket last week. But apparently her check hadn't been processed."
Following procedure, cops impounded her car, cuffed her, loaded her into a squad car and took her to Central Booking.
There, police sources said, she was fingerprinted, posed for a mug shot and held while cops checked to see if there were any outstanding warrants for the arrest of the mother of 8-month-old Nathan Stewart....(excerpt)
I think arrest is a little harsh. My point was how its possible to have a suspended license and not know it. Anyway, if this was Rush's wife,...uh, I mean ex-wife, I suspect the reaction would be a wee bit different.
'"Following procedure, cops impounded her car, cuffed her, loaded her into a squad car and took her to Central Booking."
For a license violation?
RIDICULOUS!'
Maybe, but the exact same procedeure was used on me when I got pulled over for driving with a suspended license. I had to call someone to bail me out too. What's worse is it was over a $4 parking ticket. Total cost $44. $4 for the ticket, $40 for "court costs". That's what they cuffed me and threw me in a holding cell for. $44.
11 am......Dooooh!
Not that hard at all. My youngest son's friend received a ticket for a speeding. He hired and attorney to get the ticket worked down to a non-moving violation. The court date came and went. The attorney had failed to take care of the matter. The court sent a letter and a new court date to the kid. He took the letter to the attorney and ask about it. The attorney told the kid he had already taken care of the matter. The kid was driving around with a suspended license after the second court date passed. He also had a bench warrant issued for him. The lawyer finally got off of his butt and cleared the matter for the kid.
That is not his wife.
That picture is so disturbing...
Huh...I always figured he was a homosexual.
If she had been an illegal alien they would have just let her go.
Here come the foxes, because we are two wild and crazy guys!
I am not sure why you think her arrest is so funny. To have to go through all of that for an unpaid parking ticket? Come on now...I would be happy if they did that to the UN members as they have hundreds of unpaid tickets....but not to someone with one ticket. That is just ridiculous.
Man, quit being a dork. There's nothing wrong with that picture, other than your desire to find a reason to rag on Stewart. Grow up.
Yep....we have no room for thugs, but we do for a next to nothing violation.
That's not even his wife, but that's beside the point. To rag on a very normal looking woman absolutely does not demean Jon Stewart, it only makes you look like immature lowlifes.
That's very possible...and it wouldn't surprise me if the news report conveniently failed to mention it if she had. (She may have pulled one these "Do you know who I am!?", as if the officer cared.)
I agree - not a big fan, but he can be pretty funny sometime. It sems to be going pretty low to gloat over his wife getting in a minor bit of trouble.
Very mature....
LOL!
Nah ... Not a chance! They just had nothing else to do so they thought they would tie themselves up in a couple of hours of paperwork. And we certainly wouldn't want the traffic section to enforce the laws.
I wonder, inasmuch as these beasts only stop the innocent, fun loving people, maybe they should be disbanded.
That way we can all dash through the red lights unimpeded. ;)
Look again.....
