Oh yes you have and yes, your parents use FR as a babysitter,so that they don't have to bother with you. And really, that's getting pretty stale.

Tsk,tsk,tsk...yet more juvenile behavior,Lauralee?

Good night, LauraleeBraswell. :) I am one of what I call the "normal folks" on FR. I enjoy reading the articles, FReeper responses, and occasionally I get involved in a discussion. I would just like to say, "thank you". Some FReepers lynched you tonight, but I do believe you managed to depart with your head held high. It's amazing really that some of the lurking loonies that post on FR are always the first to post, sometimes in ALL CAPS, the rules and etiquette of FR to those they disagree with. Ironically, they break the rules themselves by personally insulting people, and hijacking threads for their flame games, and personal chit-chats. You wouldn't believe how many times I've found certain posters being extremely hypocritical. Don't they realize that their comments can be read, and read again by others? LOL Some others are what I call, "know-all-ogists". They truly believe, or want us to believe, that they know more than anyone else. Yes, they can be disproved but when that happens, most of the time they will begin the personal insults and start flaming away. Talk about a gas problem. LOL

It doesn't take too long to read some of the history of any particular FReepers postings and perhaps it's worth the time. One can learn alot about a stranger by reading their own words on any given "thread". I've done that in the past when I've had doubts about what sort of person I was carrying on a conversation with. Stranger danger, and all that.

Sure, everyone gets upset sometimes (most nice folks apologize) but when faced with some extreme, irrational behaviour, it is sometimes good advice to learn more about that person through their own words, in past threads. I love FR, but I've learned that like most online forums, this one has it's weirdos and wackos as well.

It is up to you to decide which people are, in your opinion, reasonable and which are not. There are good people here who appreciate a good discussion and/or debate on any given topic without personally insulting others. Sometimes I actually feel sorry for the "mean" ones. Perhaps there is something going on in their own lives that makes them more willing to lash out at others whom they don't even know. I've seen many accuse others of being childish when their very own words show them to be right at, or below, kindergarten level. LOL

I don't know if you and I will agree with issues on other threads, but I do hope, if I meet you again, we will converse with each other with kindness and mutual respect. :)

No;Wallace was NOT "close" to Malcolm. Try finding another source.

MIKE WALLACE: "Are you not perhaps afraid of what might happen to you as a result of making these revelations?

MALCOLM X: Oh, yes. I probably am a dead man already.

MIKE WALLACE: What do you mean?

MALCOLM X: Well, when you understand the makeup of the Muslim movement and the psychology of the Muslim movement, as long as they -- I myself by having confidence in the leader of the Muslim movement, if someone came to me and I had no knowledge whatsoever of what had taken place and they told me what I'm saying, I would kill them myself. The only thing that would prevent me from killing someone who made a statement like this, they would have to be able to let me know that it's true.

Now, if anyone had come to me other than Mr. Muhammad's son, I never would have believed it even enough to look into it, but I had been around him so closely I had seen indications of it -- of the reality of it, but my religious sincerity made me block it out of my mind."

- source

In other words, Wallace Muhammad went against his own father in confirming to Malcolm X that the allegations about the father were true, even though this would thereby give Malcolm X ammunition to use against the NOI. Wallace could have just stonewalled and waited for Malcolm to be eliminated. Also evidently Malcolm trusted that he could get an honest answer from Wallace.

You, who claim to know everything about the NOI, had not even heard of W.D. Fard who is a figure of central importance, so why should I trust your expertise on other aspects of this history? Just because you have been around the block and read the newspapers does not maek you an expert on historical detail.

""Er, maybe you should re-read history. Much of the so-called religious hatred had to do more with politics than with religion.""

Interesting. Thank you for that interesting post. In the case of the American witchcraft persecutions I said that I thought it had more to do with superstitions.
I don't think the bible says anything about burning people at the stake.
