Quiet judge persists in Schiavo maelstrom
St. Petersburg Times ^ | March 6, 2005 | WILLIAM R. LEVESQUE, Times Staff Writer

And Greer, vilified by many religious protesters, is a church regular. He also is a conservative Republican in a state whose conservative Republican governor tried to overturn one of Greer's orders.

"George is the religious right," said lawyer David Kurland, a longtime friend.

Friends say Greer's intellect is perfectly formed to withstand the very tempest he now faces. Always calm, not prone to mood swings or flares of temper, unerringly polite, he is not easily ruffled, they say.

But the criticisms sting, friends say. His relationship with his church, for example, has changed.

"He's been through a lot of storms in his life," said Mary Repper, a political consultant and friend. "This is just another one. George takes everything in stride."

And Greer's answer to the indignant protester who called asking if he thought he was going to heaven: yes.

Interesting response. If you asked a 1,000 people if they thought they were going to heaven, I wonder how many would say a) I don't know, b) I hope so, or c) yes.

I am amazed at what this shark Shiavo lawyers pleadings for the public and the rats to show mercy for Terri by starvation.

This is the evil to come folks. Bred right from the annals of the democrat death culture.

My guess is that it's all a matter of ego now.

How about praying that she will start swallowing on her own and can be given nourishment that way?

She can swallow. Michael doesn't want5 her fed by mouth because she might choke. Isn't that compassionate of him?

If the state and federal government have the guts to make an example out of Greer, I'd say that it would be a nice start toward puttting a nice damper on Judicial Activism.

Greer is not "right" - religious or otherwise. What BS.
I would not want his karma. I only hope I'm in some kind of position to see him get his. Same for Schiavo and his shyster lawyer.
Speaking of which, slimeball Felos is on all the cable news channels right now. He looks like Chevy Chase in the "vacation" movies.

I had never heard that she was able to swallow. Why do her parents not go ahead and feed her then? Surely there is nothing to restrain them, even if they have to take food and water with them.

From all I have read and heard, her parents are not permitted in the room unless her "husband" says they are allowed!

"George is the religious right," said lawyer David Kurland, a longtime friend.

I hear and read this sort of garbage all the time, especially from the left-wing media. You can label anyone anything you want for your own purposes. But just saying it means nothing. The judge's actions show exactly what he is.

The parents have NO unsupervised visits with her and they probably won't be allowed in now at all. That's what happened last time the tube was removed. Until it was ordered reinstated they were kept away.

The attorney was just on TV saying that they were allowed to come anytime they want to.

The best people live by these concepts: God, family and country.
Greer has quit his church, divorced his wife and defied Congress.
Nice legacy, eh?

I had never heard that she was able to swallow.

She swallows just as much saliva as you do on a daily basis. There is no vacuum hose in her mouth nor does she drool. What does that tell you?

Why do her parents not go ahead and feed her then?

Becuase her rat bastard husband won't let them.

I hope he burns in hell, right next to that scum of a "husband". As an alleged Christian, he'll appreciate that.
