You make a good point. I'm not a Bush fan (for lots of reasons), but all he did was to make a promise that he would sign a renewal of DiFi's moronic AWB if it came to his desk. It didn't, of course, thanks to the House.
I haven't read any reports of his supporting crazy gun control laws apart from what may well have been an empty campaign promise (mentioned above) to mollify MSM-brainwashed soccer moms. His past record as TX gov. and his actions in office have not been in favor of more gun control. While he hasn't really pushed for repeal of the stupid laws on the books, that's not really the job of a president so much as it is of legislators. Criticize him for things he deserves to be criticized for, not just for the sake of bashing him. Join GOA, JPFO or the NRA.

Excellent summary of why this needs to be resisted.

Interesting to see the Senior Senator from Arizona, John "if I only had a brain" McCain, on that list. Soros' money talks yet again.

Maybe you should go ask Doug Forrester for some advice on this, Frank.
Ahem.

Never blamed him. You should take remedial reading classes so you can participate in this forum of ideas and understanding. Who is the idiot, huh?

He just represents what the majority of the voters in NJ think. The problem isn't Frankie boy - he's just the symptom - it's the a$$wipes who live in NJ.

Lautenburg has no business even being in the Senate. Republican's should have screamed bloody murder when he was illegally substituded for the torch. This fact really gets my blood boiling too.

Acting forcefully to protect citizens and law enforcers, United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg introduced today a bill which would restore the federal ban on dangerous assault weapons.I rejoiced the day this senile old Constitution-thief retired.
Then the Democrats cheated and he ended up back at the Senate.

With the expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban, these people could now upgrade from a hand gun or rifle, to an AK-47. Yep, some gun ban would keep the the rifle out of the hands of terrorists.
The 1994 law did not stop any crime from happening, the 2005 law will be worse.

McCainiac is pretty evil.
He'd be right-at-home on the Hillary ticket in 2008.

Is there a betting line on how fast GWB will sign this bill if it ever gets to his desk? I say about a day after he says he has no choice but to sign to protect "the people" (the elite). Geez, nothing Bush will do will ever cause you not to hate him, huh? The AWB is gone, the Democrats have a new bill that ain't gonna pass and all you can think of is it's an excuse to bash Bush!

I am sorry you have your panties in a twist but I never suggested that GWB wants a gun bill. I implied however that he will sign one "if" it appears on his desk. Why you ask? Same reason he signed the CFR and will sign a bill giving amnesty to criminal aliens should one appear on his desk. He needs to go along to get along. He is a lame duck after all and he has his needs, like one more than 50% to pass his SS plan and to give amnesty to criminal aliens. He needs the DEM side of the aisle.

In case you haven't figured it out, I want no gun laws. I believe that the second amendment is absolute and that any law modifying the words of the amendment would be unconstitutional. However, I also believe that GWB has let us (conservatives) down before and the scenario I offered did several things. Among them I got the idea discussed. I got a knee jerk reaction, ie. GWB good, Dems (and I for suggesting such a thing) bad.
In the end, what do we do if a gun law does appear for his signature? If he gets his amnesty and the privatization of SS passed will a AWB law be OK? He is going to have to make some deals. I was just warning you and the rest of us.
If you do not agree then tell me why. It is good to discuss the issue at hand. It is a waste of electricity and bandwidth to argue using personal attacks, and what is even worse, it is counterproductive for why we log on nearly every day.

Your first duty to the American people is to uphold you oath of office, and you've failed miserably! How did he do that? Fully automatic assault weapons belong in the hands of the military, not the general public, and by extension, criminals. Each state has a militia, in the form of the National Guard. They have the assault weapons in case they are needed.

Tell me why you disagree or am I and any other never to even think that GWB is anything other than destined for sainthood?
In that vein of thought, why would GWB send former President Clinton and GHWB hand in hand over to Asia to play good to the folks over there, thereby resurrecting Clinton's legacy? Do you think he (GWB) knows that there is going to be some close votes soon in congress? Could it be?
