I'd do the $6 just on general principle.

The previous point was that you could opt out of political contributions in your union. My point is that they tell you that it's only $6. I doubt that it is really only $6. It sounds like some sort of creative math designed to prevent anyone from actually opting out. It goes perfectly with the scam where they say you aren't forced to join the union, but if you don't they will rob you of a whole paycheck all at once.
