That's John Kefalas, who tried and failed to unseat a GOP statehouse incumbent (east side of Ft Collins). Although I walked precincts for the incumbent a lot last fall, I still respected John in a number of ways. He and I have been on opposite sides of every single political issue, yet we've gone to lunch twice in past years, and exchanged emails.
It's really too bad, but my respect for him was greatly diminished yesterday. Though he wasn't one of the two people who walked right in front of me with the huge banner to block the crowd's view of me at Old Town (just after they noticed the Coloradoan photographer taking a picture of me), nevertheless when one of those two had to take a potty break, it was John who took his place holding the banner blocking me. I was disappointed in him and later told him so at the recruiter's office.
He told me he was disappointed in me for using "labels" in my signs. I pointed out to him the use of much worse "labels" in their signs - especially signs referring to the President.
I just love this picture of you-know-who leading the lefties' parade. I'll bet they're already plotting to find some way of preventing this from happening next year! LOL
As for John Kefalas, if he ever decides to run for office again, I have a beautiful photo of him PICKETING THE ARMED FORCES RECRUITING OFFICE. It won't fly with the main stream voter.
BTW, John does seem a bit sensitive about having his photo taken. You might remember a few years ago when Fivetoes took a photo of John with his sign and pasted it into the mouth of a lion (representing Saddam), and also pasted it onto an collage of 9/11 images in order to better place his sign's message into perspective. And some local leftie lurker emailed the images to John, prompting him to walk across the street the next Saturday to bitterly complain to us.
I think he's hung around with leftists so long that he's lost most of his sense of humor. They can have that effect on people. Look at how leftists go so ballistic over Rush's political humor, not to mention their reaction to Ann Coulter's.
BUMP FOR THE TROOPS FROM AN IRANIAN! ;-)
The mainstream press didn't report any, but I sure hope there was celebrating in Iraq, for being free of Saddam.
