I had no idea where they came up with that phrase, but they've been using it since before the war. No doubt just as many people in the world, including in Ireland, were inspired by Martin Luther King's peaceful protest and emulated his tactics, there are Democrats here in the states inspired by the Irish rejection of the IRA. These Democrats probably think the Republican party and the war on terror are similar to the IRA's use of violence.

Outstanding work people! You can tell just by the signs that the radical leftists were holding up that they were a comglomeration of Marxists, Socialist, and probably a few Commies mixed in there too. Notice how alot of their signs have nothing to do with war? They try to promote their Marxist, anti-America agenda under the guise of anti-war. Interesting. I wonder if they were knowingly borrowing the phrase then from the Irish or if it was just a coincidence. And frankly, I think it's pretty accurate and refreshingly candid for the Left not to want a country liberated in their name. Oh, I want you to know I'd never dub you shapka broham.

There-most likely-is an extensive back-story to how they came up with that insipid title, though I couldn't begin to tell you what inspired it.

I know that the pinkos whose party we crashed in Central Park last weekend used the catchphrase "peace train" on more than one occasion.

I'm not sure if they were invoking the political legacy of poet Langston Hughes-another committed Communist-or the maudlin '70s ballad written by British jihadist/pop sensation, Cat Stevens.

In either case, they need come up with some catchier chants for next time.

alegrias on LGF suggested a pretty good idea: throwing a neighborhood barbecue, where a "democrat" chicken can be grilled in effigy and regular people are encouraged to register to vote. USA flag cookies can't hurt.
