This book helps the reader to understand and mediate the debates that arise when gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, intersex, and queer/questioning students and their families ask for equal treatment from the schools and are opposed by conservative parents. Sexual Orientation and School Policy is a case study of one school districts' attempt to adopt and implement policies that include sexual orientation. This book describes the work of the Safe Schools Coalition who advocate and educate for equal rights for gay lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, intersex, and queer/questioning (GLBTIQ) students. Concerned Citizens, a group of conservative parents, opposed the inclusion of sexual orientation in the policies. Factors that either facilitated or impeded the implementation of the policies are highlighted, as are the strategies employed by the Safe Schools Coalition in educating opponents

INTERsex? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
Don't be heteronormative !
Evil conservatives! Attacking families!! Who could oppose equal treatment? Such a noble cause! Oh, the humanity!
I'm not sure if I can help it...
I believe "intersex" is an individual who is only halfway to being "transgendered".
See post 7.
Actually, I believe "intersex" is the new politically correct term for hermaphroditic.
Of course...don't know why that didn't spring to mind right away. Sheesh.
I don't know how I happen to know it. Must be my liberal arts college education.
This is great. Kids can't spell, read, write or do math, but at least they'll know about the "gay lifestyle".
That'll do it, I imagine. :^)
OMG I looked at that site. I looked at this part - http://www.isna.org/faq/what_is_intersex where they say men with small penises were meant to be born female! They created a whole new perverted gender for this?? Too funny.
Clears up acne, too!
Queer questioning??? What happened to bi-curious? Just when I thought I had it all figured out!!!!
I'm not inter the kinky stuff...
Please try to understand that these groups do not want understanding. They are proselytizing their lifestyle. Many young people already think that bisexuality is the norm, the standard. At present, they have won the hearts and minds of many or most of our youth. While we make glib comments about what's going on, they're stealing our children.
I guess I need to read the book too. My youngest daughter was born while I was enrolled in Bible College. Her older brother was just out of diapers. In public highschool his
counsellors encouraged him to "try it" (homosexual behavior) they protected and encouraged him to act homosexual (a protection that did not -could not extend
beyond the School boundary. The school did nothing to
encourage,or protect his sisters. And some Court appointed attorney attmpted to suggest my older daghter's car got
vandalized because some mythical unknown non-existant person may have known my son thinks he is "gay" and was
purportedly bashing him. It is as described in Scripture-
unnatural and a sin that heaps unto itself that recompense that is due.
"Intersex" is the PC term for necrofiliatic sex (the new rage of sex with the dead among the mentally disenfranchised)......"Intrasex" is the PC term for "beings" who practice hermaphroditic sex.
But...Nonetheless, have a great day.
If you want on/off the ping list see my profile page.
What is intersex? (You're attracted to yourself?)
LOL -without knowing it, you have been indoctrinated/programmed -the term 'gender' is one of the politically correct terms. Gender has any myriad of classifications, whereas the older common term 'sex' is either male or female...
See post # 25. The term 'intersex' is actually a hypocritical term for the politically correct crowd because it still relates to the term 'sex'. Intersex means one having both male and female sexual characteristics and organs making ambiguous the assignment of male or female sex.
No doubt, the 'gender' crowd will eventually do away with this term for one that employs morally relative perspective regarding what sexual identity is (like Clinton's triangulation method of discerning truth).
So to you, anyone who is not a male or female hetrosexual is 'gay'. Being 'intersex' is a PHYSICAL condition where the person's genitalia is part male and part female. They are BORN that way. It is NOT a choice.
For you to make the comment that is it a "gay lifestyle" shows how ignorant you are on the subject.
By the way, philrocard nice welcome you to FR, since you signed up today.
Native Americans valued a "man-woman" as a spiritual guide person. Sometimes.
(I refrain from using the term "medicine man")
In one instance I read about, a "man-woman" was a brave and capable warrior.
My comments derive from books, by a well recognized author, based on extensive study of Plains and Rocky Mountain tribes; principally Crow, Shoshone, Sioux, Cheyenne, Ute, etc.
I think it means you can **** yourself!
Rephrased slightly....so it tells the truth:
"This book helps the reader to understand and mediate the debates that arise when students with same-sex attraction disorder and their families ask for equal treatment from the schools and are opposed by conservative parents. Same Sex Attraction Disorder and School Policy is a case study of one school districts' attempt to adopt and implement policies that include same sex attraction disorders."
"I'm not sure if I can help it..."
Unlike THEM, we truly were born that way, Thank God we were taught right too.
I see where you are coming from, but it isn't funny, considering they use this stuff to turn young boys into gays! Think about it, if a man is small, seems logical it could benefit gay guy who ends up being his partner.
Ghastly thought, wonder if that could be why homo men wants young boys?
WHAT?? I didn't even follow that! intrasex is having sex with dead among mentally disenfranchised???????
Any student that fits into any of these bloated, perverted categories has no business being around children who go to school to learn.
Any parent that would insist that their child belongs in one of these categories will end up with a millstone around their neck.
Any teacher or school official that would initiate such a manual for classroom "guidance" should be boiled in oil.
