David Letterman's "Top Other Changes At CNN":

1) Wolf Blitzer changing name to Blitz Wolfer

2) When covering a hard story, reporters ask, "What would Jack Daniels do?"

3) Every Sunday it's "WKRP in Cincinnati" marathons

4) Reporters must make quotation marks with fingers when calling Bush "President"

4) They're putting Lou Dobbs on steroids

5) Every night, one lucky viewer receives an on-air physical from Dr. Sanjay Gupta

6) Last 10 minutes of newscasts, anchors sing hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today

7) Changing name to CNNN

8) Interactive feature allows viewers to administer painful electric shock to Larry King.

From Jay Leno:

.... CNN, God bless them, has become the first national cable television news network to air commercials for hard liquor. Did you see their new slogan? "CNN -- News with Booze."

I still watch O'Ego now and then, but after Brit Hume goes off the air, FNC usually does as well until Fox & Friends in the morning, and mostly on weekends so I can get my Juliet Huddy fix. ;^)

Fine.

What's it stand for, "Fair and Objective non-eXtremists"?

Is it pronounced as a word ("fox") or as separate letters ("F-O-X")?

It's a brand name. Like some others (SEARS, HUMMER, WAL*MART, DELL), Fox has chosen to use all-caps to make it stand out, whether it be limited to their logo or everywhere in print. But, that doesn't necessitate our doing the same. I guess the definitive answer would be found on the company's application for incorporation.

(Since you asked. ;O)

Have Rudi Bakhtiar appear topless while reading the news?

I could make CNN dominant in 6 months. You could too. It would require honest reporting, so it ain't a' gonna happen in this lifetime.

Hehe, I saw the headline and thought "news in the nude perhaps?".

There was something dreadful on Fox a couple of nights ago and I was looking for news and surfed by CNN. I didn't recognize it at first so I hung out there for a couple of minutes and it was two women reading stuff from blogs.

I know they gotta be hurting and looking for cheap content but it was plain weird.

I'll bet Paula Zahn is scratching her head wondering why the hell she left Fox News. Remember "The Edge" w/ Paula Zahn?

on the rare occasions I can stomach Larry King for a few minutes, 10:00 pm finds me heading to Scarborough Country if there isn't a Law and Order: Fill in the Blank on somewhere....now admittedly I find Nancy Grace fascinating, CNN made one smart move this year, she is the biggest pro victim lawyer in the US of A and it sure beats Countdown with Oberman, Mr. Deluded

keep in mind we only just got Fox News Channel up here in Canada so I haven't checked out the Fox lineup yet, I'm not a big fan of O Reilly.....like that John Gibson fellow, he tells it like it is, LOL

# He has honed a personal mantra that the network’s prime-time programs should spend less time reporting the news of the day and more time churning out emotionally gripping, character-driven narratives linked to the news of the day.

Oh...you mean SPIN!...LOL..Thats what got ya where ya at!...Keep on digging that hole..It aint deep enough yet!

Its EEEAAASSSY;

1. Start reporting news in an UNBIASED MANNER;
2. Allow newsreaders to show their American patriotism instead of using either robots or traitors;
3. Start several high-profile news/talk shows hosted by well-known true conservatives.

Well, CNN? Its as simple as that.

Otherwise you're just 'whistling past the graveyard'...

actually I like Lou Dobbs who is more conservative than some Republicans these days, how did he get the CNN gig to begin with I wonder

I mean Lou seems to have a story on illegal immigration or problems with border security on everyday and I don't blame him,

we all knew Al Queda would eventually exploit that major major weakness, that Mexican-US border, if they haven't already so Lou is right on!

You mean, CNN has a strategy other than simply blocking Fox from cable access in various markets?

CNN came in with a built-in advantage of being there from the beginning, and Fox had to go uphill and into the howling blizzard all the way. For a long time, many markets were simply closed to Fox, and cable operators had to be careful of their charters, as powerful interests in those markets threatened to pull the charter. When Fox got on satellite TV, that tended to undercut the local monopolies. From that time on, Fox built audience numbers like burning underbrush.

All last week Anderson Cooper reported LIVE from Martyr's Square in Beirut.

It was fascinating and I didn't miss one show even though he didn't get the entire hour of his own program due to the satellite hookup.

He's back in the states this week but still doing coverage of Lebanon/Syria.

Content is the key and a hint to Klein: Aaron Brown needs to ratchet down the insufferable ass element of his persona for viewers to stick around.

Greta, I forgot all about Greta, I'll have to make a point to watch her just because I haven't seen her in years, having not had access to Fox until recently......

and yeah even Joe can get tedious, esp now the elections are over....

PS I cannot get over how little attention the mass killings at Red Lake high school are getting, hmmmm, wonder why?

Not enough pretty white blonde girls to cry into the camera?
