I would think he should be fine with any investigation, unless of course he's reporting something incorrectly. Red flags like that would cause any tax exempt organization to be looked into. He thinks he's being unfairly targeted no doubt.
I never watch his show, but happened onto today while he was raning. He looked pretty scared, to me.
Hey--there are PLENTY of Hollywood types and musicians that are awful people or self-obsessed lefties but I still see some their films and listen to some of their music.

Interesting background on the Ranch and mogul ranches in general here:

I've never liked Imus. I think he's a jerk and I can hardly understand what he is saying. He mumbles like he's on qualludes.
But hey, it's a free country and I can turn him off.
With that said it appears that this ranch is not a play toy for him and his wife. They take no money from the nonprofit. If they go to the ranch and skinny dip in the pool I'd say since they are actually doing something close to charity that's fine with me. I've done things for kids with cancer too. It's a good thing.
What Imus has is better than what I see from entities like "The Carter Center" which has almost a 1/4 of a billion dollars in assets. Every year they throw some big ski party they all have a goot time at. From what I can see you don't a lot of sick kids invited.
A lot of these nonprofits are scams. This one Imus has does not appear to be one to me.
I don't think they are profiting from the ranch. But the ranch serves as a HUGE tax shelter for a sprawling complex that includes a huge friggin house.
Sure, it's a tax shelter. Which means that you and I are helping to pay for part of it indirectly. Bottom line? In a way, Imus does not really put his own money where his big mouth is.
Just a note about Free Republic. In most situations I'd expect that a site like this would file for some kind of special tax status. If I'm not mistaken that has not happened here.
My instincts tell me that Imus' recent exposure of the Thimerosol (mercury) in vaccines relationship to autism has hit a little close to home with the big pharmaceuticals. They have put their yorkie Frank on Imus to silence him by making him defend his charity.
I don't think so. He was talking about Spitzer's questioning him before he started hammering the mercury thing. The reporter's just a little slow. The whole thing's puff piece to stir a little controversy and entertainment on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. They do that sort of thing.
