"Only people on this subject I've seen lying, fabricating quotations, etc. on FR have been creationists."

Well you certainly made me laugh.

This is a "discovery" by an evolutionist!

Evolution is a lie. I suspect the poor soul has no clue on reality anymore and doesn't understand that this is simply not feasible.

I sure hope you check my spelling again. While you're at it, you may want to take a course in logic or look up the word hypocrite and properly apply that.

Only people on this subject I've seen lying, fabricating quotations, etc. on FR have been creationists.

OK ... First, I'm a Creationist (Mechanical Aerospace Engineer by trade), although I rarely participate in those discussion threads at Free Republic.

But, Old Chap, let's think about this for a minute ... one million years is a VERY long time, almost like a BILLION dollars is a lot of money, more so than anyone could actually spend in an entire life time.

One million years is enough time for a "mortal" to live 10,000 consequetive lifetimes ... Hell, there aren't even enough professional careers or names in the English language to have a new one for each of those 10,000 consecuitive lifetimes.

My Point ? Nothing Organic (especially at the organized cellular level) stays "soft" for one million years, while locked away in a dehydrating rock formation ... nothing.

Therefore, while I can't speculate on how old those cells really are, common-sense says that they're NOT 70 millions years old.

>A 70-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex fossil dug out of a hunk of sandstone has yielded soft tissue, including blood vessels and perhaps even whole cells, U.S. researchers reported on Thursday

"I got your body right now on my mind
And I've drunk myself blind
To the sound of old T-Rex
To the sou-ou-ound
Of old T-Rex
Oh, and Who's Next . . ."

Very cool. I want
to drink myself blind to the
sound of old T. Rex!

Wow, I'm having a vision of a real Jurassic Park sometime down the road.

LOL

Not to worry. They will tell us that the cloning process will be completely safe, "A real 'Jurrasic Park' could never, ever happen."

I'll believe them, will you?

Now what did I do with those missing genetic sequences.....

I am 55 million years old. Now that this is in print, it must be true. Who was here to prove me wrong?

Can anyone shed any light on how the 70-million-year old date was determined? How could soft tissue survive for that length of time, especially encased in rock?

the bog people of europe are between 2-8 thousand years old and many of them are well preserved and still flexible who knows how fast these animals were covered up and encased or how long it takes to mineralize tissue.
