Awww. I was so busy that I didn't see this post. God really is in control, so don't lose hope. But I know how you feel. Prayer isn't coming to me easily, either.

We're expecting rain up here, too. Don't know if it's your storm moving up the coast.

Terri's family offered Michael everything they had, and everything they hoped to have, if he would just let her go. Only God knows if he will be redeemed. I've often thought of his children and their lifetime burden when they learn their daddy killed his wife.

I understand where you're coming from completely.. we have had many so-called "devoted" christians on the wrong side of this.. and lots of in betweeners who actually get it! I've been fighting on one side or another for so many years.. I'm just tired of it all I guess.. trying to focus in my later years on what counts most to me.. getting my life in order since both my parents died so young, as well as several relatives..

My dad was raised religous by his momma, "converted" to atheism in his later years, then realized towards the end that his momma had been right..

nicely written, Pegita......

as for me, I am tired of shouting into the wind......people aren't listening, not even here on FR......

I know this is murder, the way they are doing this....

what gets me so angry is the way our justice system has just ushered this thru...they never listened at all.....perhaps, it is bad lawyering, but judges are supposed to see thru that......

I am a nurse, I will be working on Easter Sunday, and I will see many very ill patients , some close to death....

I just can't imagine treating a very sick person or even a dying person the way MS is treating Terri.....

you turn them gently, wipe their mouths out, talk to them in soothing voices, medicate their pain, wash them and rub lotion on their skin as necessary, provide nice, soft warm blankets .....

most of all, you enable the family to be there 24/7......you treat the family with as much tenderness as you do the patient.....

I ask myself how professionally licensed nurses and doctors could go thru this charade, all these years....

our number one goal is to be patient advocates.....

now, I find out that ONE person can prohibit you from even simple treatments for the patient....how can this be?

anyway, I think Terri will be gone very soon.....

I pray for her, for her family, and to God, to please enlighten us down here, as to why our society has become so callous that it would permit killing a poor soul like Terri....I really don't understand that....

Why else would he deny Terri fresh air, TV, radio music, walks outside in the sun, therapy, hope?

He wanted to break her will so that she would "die faster."

I wasn't going to check back in tonight, but as I began to turn off the computer and had this thread minimized, I thought maybe I'd better check.

My heart is broken at reading Pegita's post from Cheryl Ford. Forgive me for saying this, but I don't understand why God is choosing not to spare Terri and I'm frustrated.

I will go to bed tonight with a heavy heart and prayers for Terri and her family. May He bless all of you and yours this Easter.

vg

I just wanted to share something with those of you who are feeling the way I've been feeling.... sad, frustrated and outraged at what is being done to Terri.

The other day, I woke up and checked the news, and when I saw that nothing was changing, and it was looking hopeless for Terri, I just cried, and was feeling so upset and downhearted. Not just about the Schiavo case, but about all evil, and how it seems God often stands back, and evil wins (for now). So I began to pray, and I poured out all the things that were depressing me. Then after I prayed I felt led to go to a Bible, so I did. And this is the truth, without even looking or flipping through the pages, I just opened it up, and the page was Job Chapter 24, which happens to be the exact questions I had just asked God. I'll just post the whole thing (hope you guys don't mind) and make sure to read the last few verses.

Job 24

"Why does the Almighty not set times for judgment? Why must those who know him look in vain for such days?

Men move boundary stones; they pasture flocks they have stolen. They drive away the orphan's donkey and take the widow's ox in pledge.

They thrust the needy from the path and force all the poor of the land into hiding.

Like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor go about their labor of foraging food; the wasteland provides food for their children.

They gather fodder in the fields and glean in the vineyards of the wicked.

Lacking clothes, they spend the night naked; they have nothing to cover themselves in the cold.

They are drenched by mountain rains and hug the rocks for lack of shelter.

The fatherless child is snatched from the breast; the infant of the poor is seized for a debt.

Lacking clothes, they go about naked; they carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.

They crush olives among the terraces; they tread the winepresses, yet suffer thirst.

The groans of the dying rise from the city, and the souls of the wounded cry out for help.

But God charges no one with wrongdoing.

"There are those who rebel against the light, who do not know its ways or stay in its paths.

When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up and kills the poor and needy; in the night he steals forth like a thief.

The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk; he thinks, 'No eye will see me,' and he keeps his face concealed.

In the dark, men break into houses, but by day they shut themselves in; they want nothing to do with the light.

For all of them, deep darkness is their morning; they make friends with the terrors of darkness.

"Yet they are foam on the surface of the water; their portion of the land is cursed, so that no one goes to the vineyards.

As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow, so the grave snatches away those who have sinned.

The womb forgets them, the worm feasts on them; evil men are no longer remembered but are broken like a tree.

They prey on the barren and childless woman, and to the widow show no kindness.

But God drags away the mighty by his power; though they become established, they have no assurance of life.

He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but his eyes are on their ways.

For a little while they are exalted, and then they are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others; they are cut off like heads of grain.

"If this is not so, who can prove me false and reduce my words to nothing?"

So, I definitely felt my troubles that morning were answered. (It's cool when that happens!) It makes me almost feel sorry for those on the other side. They're the ones going to be needing mercy.

It is my understanding that the only unforgivable sin in heresy..i.e. consorting with the devil..

and it is also my understanding that one only gets forgiveness if one truly repents and asks God for forgiveness sincerely..

God can see into all hearts and souls, and judges accordingly..

{{{{{{{valleygal}}}}}}}} I pray for comfort for all those hurting tonight. Lord, hold us in your arms and comfort our weary spirits. We know not the plans that you have for us each day, yet we know you are in control. Although we sometimes do not understand the whys, help us to find peace in this horrible situation. I pray that Terri has her soft cheek lying on your strong hand and that she feels no pain. Whisper in her ear, oh Lord, not to fear, that you are with her.

In Jesus name, Amen

My heart is broken. I go to bed tonight, the night before Easter, and feel none of the joy I should. I weep for Terri, for her parents, for our country. I weep also for myself, I confess.

Sins of omission, sin by inaction: Can you hear a Felos-worshipping doctor saying, "I didn't kill her. I didn't give her anything that would kill her. I simply didn't give her anything to keep her alive, so she died on her on." I can. Yeah, doc. She's still just as dead because of your inaction.

I've never had the power or legal authority to rescue Terri. There are two men who did. While Terri is dying along with the Constitution, Jeb wimped out. W wimped out. And now we have one branch of government with no accountability. That's the definition of dictatorship. And the GOP? The antics of their renegade frat chapter in Pinellas have been known a while. They wimped out on cleaning up that mess. All are sins of omission. There's so much more I could say about this epidemic of wimping out.

Like many of you posted earlier, I'm through with the Republicans and Democrats; and I'm going to the Constitution Party. It's stronger than you're allowed to know in my state, and has won elections. If that's not to your taste, another party I just learned of and still don't know enough about might be to your liking. The America First Party. I do know, though, that they've issued an unambiguous pro-Terri anti-Euthanasia statement.

I'm not leaving, because there's no place to go. Nor am I dropping out. And we're not yet at our Claire Wolfe moment. The only thing left for me is dig in and organize.

And that's my rant for this evening.....
