"Gee its a holiday and we got a big meal with the relatives tomorrow"....JEEZ.........
What a JOKE!
I guess they are all waiting for someone else (Jeb,GW) to put their a** on the line and take all the penalties for breaking the law!
Where the h*** is Rush, Savage, O'Reilly, Dobson, Hannity, etc??? They sure talk a good game don't they but when push comes to shove...uh...their busy schedules won't allow them to be there?? LOL!!
Dr Kennedy, where are you?? You DEMANDED that Jeb take ACTION! You live in Florida, your church is there, why aren't you and your whole congregation marching outside the hospice 24/7??? Where are all of the brave, heroic foot soldiers ready to go to jail???
This PROVES that the bomb-throwers, hotheads, and wack-jobs that have been calling for a Jeb and/or GW to start a constitutional crisis over this issue are in reality a TINY MINORITY in this country! They can't even get twenty people out there for cryin out loud!
The Repub's need to cut all ties to these nuts now before the President's poll numbers fall even farther than they already have, the lowest in his entire presidency!
I am ROTFLMAO! They are all waiting for someone else (Jeb,GW)to take the heat and dodge the bullets if it came to that! LOL!
TALK IS CHEAP, AIN'T IT BOYS???
Bishop Lynch is a disgrace.
Those who have been participated in Operation Rescue know Randall Terry and his history and many know that the Schindler's picked the wrong person to be spokesman. He has managed to turn the family against Jeb Bush, who has done yeoman's work on their behalf.
Perhaps Bush could do more. Perhaps he could even stop this, but bullying him in public won't get the job done. I've heard the same thing happened in the Florida senate. RT started calling them names and threatening them before they even voted. No one wants to villified while they decide what to do.
Had some other public figure called for 1000s to come, they would have come, I believe.
Oh Plu-eeze! We would all be better off in heaven.
God, I hope I can get back my faith.
Politicans.....what a joke. They are nothing but self serving, money hungry....never mind.
PBRown -
Now is exactly the time not to panic. We may lose this battle - but we have collectively fought more valiantly than we did for poor Nancy Kruzan back in the early 1990s. My wife was part of a failed rescue effort back then, but they were almost all alone. There are some good signs, don't lose heart.
bump for tomorrow
Another area that seems to be out of the question.
I have seen no discussion, no comments about NEGOTIATIONS.
Not between Michael Shiavo and the Schindler family.
Not between the President, Governor, Legislators, Courts/Judges, Attorneys, Hospital/hospice management.
Not between and among various medical experts.
Not between the so-called leaders and spokespersons, etc. The Randall Terry's, and the religious professionals, etc.
Not any, anywhere. No compromises, no offers, nothing.
I am, therefore, not surprised that after 15 years, it comes to the scenes of the last few days.
You got this right. I knew when Terry started yapping his jaws the day before yesterday that it was a matter of time before the parents were going to get desparate and start blaming the ones who were helping them the most.
So sad.
"Those who have been participated in Operation Rescue know Randall Terry and his history and many know that the Schindler's picked the wrong person to be spokesman."
Indeed, he was definitely not a wise choice. His previous history, albeit well-intentioned, made him an immediately polarizing figure that would make people already wanting to snuff Terri more intent on doing so. If for no other reason than to gore Randal Terry.
It's hard to have faith in a system that appears to be ran by a single judge.
I'm always the one in my family that keeps everybody in my home in a positive mood, but I've been slipping in that role for a week. I'll snap out of it I'm sure. I just have to go through the process.
Thanks for your words of encouragement, they really mean a lot.
To give Randy a break, he was much more restrained on Joe Scarborough a few minutes ago and made what I think was a convincing case that Gov Bush could intervene. (You can do that without Demonizing him). Scarborough agreed with him.
I really don't see the sense of having large demonstrations on-site. It just creates the possibility that someone will get over eager and do something stupid. I have never seen that on-site demonstrations accomplish anything except making demonstraters look bad on TV. Better to stay and home and use the internet and other more modern, and more effective methods. Opening your pocketbook is also more effective than marching in a picket line.
Taking physical action is supposed to be the role of government especially the "magistrate." Governor Bush as Chief Magistrate is the one to act. Individual citizens serve better by writing (demanding if you will) that the Governor fulfill his God ordained role. Voting in elections also is the way. If pols don't respond to their base, then the pols are removed by the election process. Some in the Republican party forget that without the Christian base (the "wackjobs" as one over the top poster called them/us) the Republican party would be in them minority.
"(You can do that without Demonizing him)"
It was not my intent to demonize Randal Terry. He has been in this struggle a long time and is to be commended; God Bless him. It is just that he has become "marked" by the media, etc. and often brings more bad pub. than positive results.
"...The lapse of time between the various offenses and the indictment of defendant on July 27, 1967, is considerable but is adequately explained by the record. The murder weapon in each case was unique, insulin. The deaths of each of these victims were initially attributed to causes other than a criminal agency. Suspicion of insulin and of defendant as the person administering the insulin was not aroused until the death of Zella in 1956. It was not until years later, after much painstaking and persistent investigation by law enforcement officers, and the discovery of advances made in {Page 3 Cal.3d 621} medical knowledge and techniques, that sufficient evidence could be accumulated to charge defendant with these deaths. Unfortunately, by then other of defendant's victims had lost their lives. This is the only known reported case of murder by insulin poisoning in the United States. Only one other, reported world-wide, occurred in England in 1956. ..."
"...Dr. Grace Fern Thomas, a psychiatrist and an expert in insulin shock therapy, and director of the insulin shock department at the time defendant was at Camarillo, testified as to the procedures on the ward. A precise dosage of insulin was measured for each person at a particular time. At a specific level that patient would go into shock in approximately two hours after the injection. Patients do not progress at the same level. Careful watch must be kept of the pulse, color, blood pressure, general condition, and neurological signs, such as pupillary changes and body motions. When a patient is going into progressive stages of coma he sweats very profusely and breathes very heavily. Saliva is secreted in large amounts, mucous flows freely and mixes with the saliva, and the patient must be carefully watched, turned, or assisted so that he does not aspirate the fluid into his lungs. Otherwise bronchopneumonia may develop, leading to death. The gag reflex and the cornea reflex are lost. Convulsions may occur, and medication is given to prevent this. The extremities may stiffen. At a relatively deep level of coma the Babinski test (scatching the sole of the foot in a certain manner) will cause a reflex known as the Babinski response (toes fan out). The patient must be brought out of the coma within 10-15 minutes thereafter. This is done by administering glucose through gastric tubes, and if this is not effective, glucose is administered intravenously to raise the blood sugar.
I am disgusted with both of the Bushes for not doing more to save Terri. Isn't that what "leaders" are supposed to do, get out front and take the heat for doing the right thing, even if it might not be popular?
And also with the average American for not protesting more especially conservatives. The truth is there are no true Christians left in this once great country, they would've never allowed this travesty to get this far. I can see clearly now our ship is sinking and after this heart-breaking debacle, the writing is on the wall. So long America!
So the media is pissed because they don't have the 24/7 freak show they were promised? Boo-hoo.
One doesn't need to stand around with signs to force Congress to pass legislation and make the President fly back and sign it.
But then again, that doesn't exactly sell advertising does it.
That's all liberals know and understand, the sweet succor of the mob.
