re: this is NOT Abortion
Frankly I see this as no more than the most blatant case of late term abortion on record.
You say that Terri Schiavo can't swallow. Do you see a tube in her mouth, the kind the Dentist uses when he's working on your teeth, to drain away the saliva because swallowing is something he doesn't want you to do?
Contrary to popular opinon and the MSM's constant use of the PVS, Terri can swallow. She is swallowing her own saliva every minute of every day of her life.
Nurses who have spoken out recently, who took care of her before Michael stopped all "hand feeding", have talked about giving her jello, pudding, and other soft foods. Her parents have talked about giving her soft foods - before the "malpractice case" was won by Michael and he had close to 2 Million bucks he wanted to preserve for himself, to have after he divorced his wife. He is the architect of this PVS nonsense.
It means that with minimal therapy, she probably could have learned to chew food again. She was being given some form of physical therapy, to walk, when Michael stopped that. Does that sound like a person who has ALWAYS been in a persistent vegetative state?
But I digress.
I only wanted to address your statement that she wasn't swallowing. She swallows her own saliva. And was able to swallow water from a straw, and jello and puddings, before any hand-feeding was stopped by Michael Schiavo.
Psssst...I'd just like for this article to be seen on all of the Terri threads this morning. Pass it on to another thread:

My gosh, but these words sound like one of those "misleading" 2003 AP headlines about Terri
No one with any sense is saying Terri is comatose, yet there you have the AP version
Thanks
Yes.
MOre for him and also actions for others:
OK....let me clarify this a bit.
Where does it state under the Governors job and duty allowances that HE has the power to override the courts decisions? I understand and know all the statute and violations that has occured to Terri...believe me, its horrific. WHat I want to know is where exactly is it outlined that the Governor can physically take custody of Terri from the state court and the supreme courts rulings> Does that make sense?
It seems a lot of blame is going out to Jeb Bush on "not doing something". WHat I want to find is the PROOF that indeed he has the ability to go in and take claim to Terri. That is what I need. Please provide if you can. Dont send me all the statutes of what laws were broke in regards to Terri's rulings....we already know that. Hope this makes sense. Thanks, Cyndi

The Right to Life
National Review Online ^ | March 24, 2005 | William J. Bennett and Brian T. Kennedy
The "auxiliary precautions" of Florida government in this case the Florida supreme court have failed Terri Schiavo. It is time, therefore, for Governor Bush to execute the law and protect her rights, and, in turn, he should take responsibility for his actions. Using the state police powers, Governor Bush can order the feeding tube reinserted. His defense will be that he and a majority of the Florida legislature believe the Florida Constitution requires nothing less...
In taking these extraordinary steps to save an innocent life, Governor Bush should be judged not by the opinion of the Florida supreme court, a co-equal branch of the Florida government, but by the opinions of his political superiors, the people of Florida. If they disagree with their governor, they are indeed free to act through their elected representatives and impeach him. Or they can vindicate him if they think he is right. But he should not be cowed into inaction he should not allow an innocent woman to be starved to death because of an opinion of a court he believes to be wrong and unconstitutional...
Governor Bush pledged to uphold the Florida constitution as he understands it, not as it is understood by some Florida judges. He is the rightful representative of the people of Florida and he is the chief executive, in whom the power is vested to execute the law and protect the rights of citizens. He should use that power to protect Terri's natural right to live, and he should do so now.

I just called DCF this morning and spoke with a nice woman named Tiffany. She told me she would document the call, and she took my information, but she told me she had been informed (she was "just doing her job") that there wasn't anything they could do about it.
I told her I'd been following the case, and that it's common knowledge that DCF doesn't need Greer's permission to rescue Terri.
She was sympathetic but claimed she could do no more than take my info and document the call. They know all about the case.
I'd say Jeb has left the state.
Terri's sister, Suzanne, and father,Bob, March 26, 2005.

Michael has announced plans to have Terri's body cremated immediately upon her death. The Medical Examiner has the authority to order an autopsy if foul play is suspected. If he waits until after her body has been cremated, it will obviously be too late. Contact him now.
