(Vanity) Your Ideas for Protest Placards @ Terri's Hospice HERE, Please !!
AmericanInTokyo ^ | 26 March 2005 Holy Saturday | AmericanInTokyo

(VANITY) For Open Discussion:

Been noticing much more media proclivity to focus in on the big protest signs being carried at Terri's hospice.

These signs say a lot in a few words. Because many Americans may focus in on them instead of the story. Busy folks multitasking who have the TV sound down. Folks in a department store or going through an airport terminal or at an auto repair shop waiting room or at a rental car agency, wherever in the heartland of America, this Saturday.

The more thinking by all of us about these signs and their potent messages to millions of Americans as the battle for Life goes into the final phases, the better.

Perpaps some will be motivated by your very good FREEPER idea or your thread post to convert it to a placard and go to the hospice in Florida; or one of our likeminded already there on-site reading FR will adopt your idea.

Please contribute yours. Wording for signs only, please, if possible. Freepers are always overflowing with great ideas and creativity!

Maybe these can be done better. I did these with Babelfish.

Not a protest sign, but a chant (for the benefit for the feminists)
NOT THE CHURCH
NOT THE STATE
HUSBANDS WILL DECIDE OUR FATE

(Sincere apologies to all the good husbands out there, including my own sweetie, but "estranged, homicidal adulterous husbands" doesn't scan, poetically speaking.)

I like your second slogan. It's something we've been saying in our house. Mind you, this comes from a strong military family--nearly all the men in both sides of the family have fought in every war since the Revolutionary War. And for THIS?

Breaks my heart.

Proud member of Sinkspur's Wacko Hall of Fame--I'd rather be called a "wacko" than a death supporter.

It could sound like the death side too. Be careful.

This would be a good source. Michael Schiavo and Judge Greer are in clear violation of the animal cruelty laws. Terri does, after all, still qualify as an animal.

- - - - -

Pinellas County Animal Control Ordinance

Sec. 14-32. Cruelty to animals.

a) Whoever impounds or confines any animal in any place and fails to supply the animal during such confinement with a sufficient quantity of good and wholesome food and water shall be in violation of this article.

(b) Whoever keeps any animal in any enclosure without wholesome exercise and change of air shall be in violation of this article.

(c) Whoever abandons to die any animal that is maimed, sick, infirm, or diseased shall be in violation of this article.

(d) A person who unnecessarily overloads, overdrives, tortures, torments, deprives of necessary sustenance or shelter, or unnecessarily or cruelly beats, mutilates, or kills any animal, or causes the same to be done, or carries in or upon any vehicle, or otherwise, any animal in a cruel or inhumane manner, shall be in violation of this article.
