In my mind this case only goes to highlight the breathtaking hipocracy of Delay, and indeed the entire republican party.Your screen name suits you well, newbie.
BTW, it's spelled "hypocrisy." LOL, DUH!

OMG..I wish I had a nickel for every sob article that's been posted in the last two weeks about people coming out of comas, and PVS states. But when the other side says something, it's irrelevant. Whenever you do that, you lose more of your credibility.

I didn't like DeLay's attacks on the house floor. They were uncalled for. But he doesn't deserve to be slimed by the LATimes.

Let's see...Terri Schiavo: Severely brain-damaged, but otherwise relatively healthy...until very recently.
Charles DeLay: Severely brain-damaged, and severely physically injured, and suffering from infections that were shutting down his organs.
Oh, yes, absolutely the same situation.
The editor who greenlighted this abortion should be fired for incompetence...but won't be.

As another poster asked someone, "Did you read the article?" No, I don't need to, once I knew it was in the LA Times. I can expect it to be as smeared as the new CBS poll, whose questions were so badly loaded. It doesn't matter how truthful or untruthful it was; the LA Times is not credible.
Some people think Rushie can repair the judiciary and the academia single-handedly. While I know he has to sing his song to millions to keep the train going, I also know that only bloggers like yourself are making it happen. I am not the only person today to read your posting, but I will tell ten people about it. Thank you, and bless you, for it. And I sincerely hope you're not offended by my blessing, as some a-hole was today in "Miss Manners."
Geez, we have come so far, but have so far to go... Thank you again.

SHAME on Michael Shiavo.
We have an unholy trinity here. OJ, Scott Peterson, and Michael Shiavo. They're 3 of the most despised men in America.

The media just doesn't get it. It's ok for a family to let a loved one pass on, but it's not OK to murder someone that has no one looking out for her interests.

Comprehension? sic. Got the meanin' and thank you.

Depriving anyone of food and water will result in eventual death. (Shhh....don't' tell any Judge that I said that.) Should we allow for impartial-birth abortions (infanticide) because infants cannot swallow solid food? Should we allow parents to lock their children in a room with no food or water (it's been done)?
A ventilator is different in my personal opinion (provided that holding such an opinion does not offend any Judge); without the ability to breathe, a person expires in a matter of minutes, not days or even weeks. In certain cases (and deLay's appears to be one of them), it may be appropriate to unplug the ventilator if the person cannot recover.

We didn't trust the polls leading up to the election, with good reason. We didn't trust the exit polls on election day. We can accord these polls the same amount of credence.
