The Schindlers attorney said that Mrs. Schiavo is declining rapidly and a morphine drip has been administered by medical staff at her hospice to help her ease her pain.
He added, 'At this point, we would say that Terri has passed the point of no return.'
The case has been in and out of court for years and has gripped America.
It has seen the intervention of US President George W. Bush, the US Supreme Court and Florida's Governor Jeb Bush.
The Schindlers, practicing Roman Catholics, have attracted passionate support from an array of Christian conservatives, right to life, and anti abortion advocates, who have been holding vigils outside the hospice.

Now wait just a sec - morphine? I thought that she would feel no pain because she had no capacity for it. I'd better stop right here...

What pain? I thought starving to death was supposed to be a painless process? Besides, she is supposed to be brain dead so she shouldn't feel any pain.
This because death by dehydration is so euphoric, I suppose...
We must pass legislation in her honor to avoid similar barbaric outcomes (being starved/dehydrated to death while not in a PVS) in the future.
Pain? I didn't know that PVS patients feel pain.

I was thinking the same thing.
If she has pain, she has awareness of sensations. Is she has awareness of sensations, then she is being executed in a cruel and unusual way.

She wasn't dying fast enough. The morphine will collect in the system because of the dehydration. It will collect until it becomes a lethal dose.
I'd keep waiting on that one.
Satan's trio are doing the happy dance and the Bush brothers are breathing sighs of relief they won't be asked to be heroes again.
